emergency trunk release cable

I was talking to my old man and he is alsa a long term alfa freak he told me when he bought his 1965 step front 1600 it had a emergency boot release cable with a white plastic ring on it what cars had these and whare can I get one

I've heard of emergency bonnet release cables like you describe but never boot releases ????

The release was a black ring under the pasenger seat & operated a nylon cable.... I believe there was also the same arrangement on the bonnet.

I have seen an emergency hood release in a berlina. it consited of some very heavy "fishing line' through the fire wall with a loop in to grab hold of in the passenger compartment. Could have been dealer or owner installed.
