Oil temperature sender

Where is the oil temp sender at? I found a sensor.. but not sure if its the pressure or temp. Any one got a photo so I know where it is? Mine seems to be dead.. or it has bad connection.

Thanks,
Scott

I aaasume the car you refer to is the '67 1300 in your signature. There is no oil temp guage in this car is there? On most of the carb-vintage alfas, the oil pressure sender is at the rear of the block under the carb manifold(1); the water temp sender is at the front of the carb manifold, on top above the distributor(2). The oil pressure idiot light switch is on the oil filter housing(3), and for later (1975+) alfas the water temp idiot light sender is on the head screwed into one of the water jacket plugs(4). That's all the senders.

Robert

Eh? On my junior the oil pressure is right side of block above the starter. Oil temperature sender is mounted in the top of the oil filter housing. My '67 is Veglia gauges and requires Veglia sending units. The gauges will not work with the other sending units for later cars.

Yep, the Series 1 GT Jrs have oil temp gauges and no warning light. The oil temp sender, which is the same as the coolant temp sender, is on the filter housing. There's much more info on this subject in this thread.
