What is it worth to you? More info please....
What will you be using the car for? How much are thay asking? Is there much rust? Are you able to do most of the work yourself? How long has the car been sitting for?
It also wouldnt hurt to introduce yourself, that way people might be more inclined to reply.

Well to give you an Aussie baseline, I just sold my 70 Step Front junior with good condition 1750 s2 engine and gearbox for $2150 to a bloke in Melbourne. Body was not too bad but needs to be overhauled, some rust in sills but generally sound allover. Interior needs attention as dash was stuffed and seats need recovering and it needs new floor covering. Door cards and roof lining were sound. It is always better to buy one restored as a rule, if they are asking 12k restored there is a good chance the car owes him 20k plus in work, younever get back what you put in moneywise, so try to buy a good one if you can as you will always be ahead. BUt if you want a fixer upper always put good body work ahead of mechanicals. An engine rebuild will set you back 6k unless you have contacts ( I have recently donw mine), but body work can cripple you if you are not careful.
The way I see it you have a few options.
1. Go for a fully restored car, which is well priced because you will be getting 20k plus worth of work for 12 k, as an example.
2, Go for a car with a good body but may need mechanical work.
3. Go for a car that is very original, moderately priced i.e 4.5k to 6 k but is also very honest in that you can see all its faults and are left with no nasty surprises 12mths down the track. You know what you are getting into.
Stay away from unoriginal cars. replacement engines are ok in my book, better if the engine is the same as the one that came out, larger capacity is ok too. Non original wheels are iffy, factory option wheels such as Momo vegas or Campags are fine also. Stay away from radical interior changes such as 2000 interiors in 1750's or honda prelude seats. Good interior parts can be a nightmare to track down 2000 grills on Gt juniors are expensive to replace and vice versa.
Try to avoid cars that have been boganed up with after market crap or rubbish from Supercheap, chances are they may have also been flogged and are bodged. Really check out body and paintwork. A shiny paint job, may just be hiding plenty of bog and chicken wire. I saw one 1750 in Surfers Paradise that had been given the full Momo treatment in the interior, gearstick, steering wheel, seats even down to the wood on the dash and console being replaced with red carbon fibre crap. At first I thought I could live with this for a while, then I took a good look at the body which at first appeared to be ok, closer inspection well lets put it this way.....
Others may disagree with me on this point but always try to get a car that looks like it has been painted in or close to its original colour. There are plenty o red cars out there that started life as Ochre or white or blue even. One big way to spot this is to look for a car thats interior should match its exterior. On Aussie 1750's cars that were Red, and Giallo Ochre must have a Black interior. Cars that were painted in Greens, Blues or Silver must have a tan interior. White cars were either done in black or red but never Tan. If you see a Red car with a tan interior....walk...no run..its is not original. I cannot speak for other colours as you generally do not come across anything too way out downunder. Maroon I think is the oddest I have seen, and I am not sure it was an original colour(ok colour for a footy jersey, but that is about it). Again others may not agree here, but that's my theory and I am sticking to it.
Good luck anyway. There are plenty of Aussie 105 owners on this site, especially 1750 drivers, who are only happy to help.

YES!
For $1500 you cant go wrong.
You could sell the bumpers for that alone if they are good.
But I would say save it...... prices for these cars keep going up and up, so if you can do most of the work yourself it could be a good investment, not to mention the fun factor and self satisfaction it will bring!
Have a look here - these guys are in Ringwood, I haven't bought anythign off them yet but they seem to sell high quality products (at a price im sure).

Goldclover are you serious about the price of the bumpers ?? Crickey. Just out of curiosity who do you use in Sydney for spares ? I always go out to Brookvale to see Manning motors.
Alfasud, I recommend Marco at milano spares in Melbourne they supplied 80 % of my bits and bobs for my engine rebuild. Really good outfit.

Threealfas - yes, i live not far from Rob at Manning motors. I had some work done there on a couple of my cars. Unfortunately something bad happened that spoiled the relationship. So now i choose to look elsewhere for my parts.

As another Sydney folk, I personally use a mix of parts people. I most often use Tony McKone at McKone Automotive. He's located at Windsor, over one and a half hours drive for me but always worth it as he knows his stuff better than most. He has a LOT of 105 stuff from cars hes broken but also carries a fair amount of NEW 105 stuff. He will post smaller pieces if requested too. My experience with Rob at Manning Motors in Brookvale has been nothing but good. He has always done the right thing by me and always seems to have that part your after in stock. On my last visit he had 3 RHD Guilia Sprint Specials in his workshop. I believe there are 7 in all of Australia. Vivian at 105Factory in Melbourne is a nice guy too and I have ordered many smaller items from him in the past. I'll do business with him again too.
Most of the other places in Sydney I have tried usually don't carry any 105 stuff and just don't seem to be interested in trying to find it for you either. Their main interest seems to be just servicing the newer cars. There are probably others out there with stuff but the fore mentioned people know their stuff and I'm happy deal with them.
This probably does nothing but confirm what most 105 Sydneysiders know already but hey, I add because I care.
Cheers
Adam

As an aside Tony Mckone is both the Alfa owners club secretary and is also one of the judges at the concourso de eleganza each year in sydney......a good guy who definitely knows his stuff and if you need some advice on bits and pieces he's the man.
