GT Junior 1969 Restoration

Hello Alfisti

I'm back in the game
Have me bought yesterday this 1969 GT Junior.

Unfortunately, 2nd series with the other dashboard.
Unwelded and almost no rust, all the pieces available to the rear bumper.

The car was from 1969 to 1998 in Naples Italy, after a year in Germany and was decommissioned in 1999.

Marcel

Welcome 'back' Marcel,
So, what's the issue with the 'other' beautiful, sexy, and racey dash design?

I hope you are able to purchase/rent a house with a garage so you have more control of what is happening around it

Hi Marcel,

I join my congrats and a warm welcome back with your new project. I'm really sorry to read and see what happened with your previous car. It's obvious now that you are a courageous man, taking on you this new challenge after the previous fire disaster. Keep us posted and and all my personal best wishes for your new project.

Hello Alfisti

Many thanks for the encouraging emails and posts

My car is blasted and grinded down to the metal and primed as now stand the works for 2 months.
The small accident is not yet repaired, front right, but the body shell was on a straightening bench and the mass voice again. The car has little rust and no hobbyist has played on this.

Super starting position.

Ending with a question to you: Can anyone assign the engine number on picture 15.
Is a 1600 engine bore / stroke 78 mm x 82 mm.

Saluti
Marcel

Hello VR

My car was mounted then sanded or sandblasted down to bare metal. The first layer of the paint system was applied epoxy resin.

I've looked at your thread and I think you have other problems. Look at these two links that was on my first project.

Think your car is not so bad but a lot of work. Please reply with name I hate nicks.

Hello Alfisti

Chronology of photos is not true, current status is post 7 to 9.

In 3 weeks it goes to the next round.

Where the old hare will know, I stayed there for 2 weeks and can not wait to go.
The new parts are ordered or already there.

To align the body
There was something with bare metal and where does this screw belong?

A driver's door I fortunately still plus an original door skin, has stuck in the last time 200 hours in the doors. Of course the usual rust but nothing that can not be repaired.

Much is in good condition. Was really lucky, 10 years ago there were cars in this state still like sand at sea. Today are rare.
