GTC Bootlid Trunk lid

Hi Guys,

Probably the wrong forum to post in but seeing as it's quite a specialist topic I thought I'd post it here.

I have an original GTC bootlid with no rust (apart from some surface oxidisation) , no previous repair work done.

Might be of interest to some on here.

Located in Australia - will post globally.

Check the listing - I can supply more pictures if required.

Hi pancho, what is the difference between a GTC and normal GT/sprint bootlid? How can you tell, apart from holes for the script work. Also and please don't mis-understand me but From the photos i looked at on my phone it appears to have had a lot of panel beating done to it (perhaps i am wrong) so perhaps it is a little pricey, that is unless they are so unique to this model and therefore command such prices.

GTC bootlid is deeper than the GT bootlid. So they are quite different dimensions.

No Panel work has been done to the item. What you're seeing is where I strip disc'd the edges (and there is some shiny metal and not so shiny metal) as I never run paint stripper to the edge of panels.

Oh, and only about 1000 of the GTC models made in total. So rust free unrepaired bootlids are rare, anything specific to the GTC is rare.

Fair enough pancho, hear what you say mate. As I was trying to say I didn't know there was a difference. I always was under the impression that they were the same shell as a Gt, just without a roof. Obviously I am wrong. I was aware that gtcs are rare. Must be the quality of pics I was looking at on the ph. I am not sure I understand the comment re paint stripper, but what the heck, no dramas.

Forgive me for butting in here, but I think Pancho has been too polite in response. Dave, why the heck did you write this? What's it got to do with you? Do you own a GTC? Even if you did, what's the grand importance that means you must reply with your opinion. You should recognise that your uninformed questioning of this item might keep potential buyers away. This isn't the first time you've done this on this forum and others. Have a think about it, before you hit the "submit reply" button...
