Difficulty starting when hot

Its been a while since I posted, and I checked the posts but could not find one exactly fitting my description.

I have a 74 GTV Spica

Car could sit for 2 -3 weeks and when I go start it, crank it up to 2 times and fires up, runs strong no hesitation.
After I park it and about it 20 minutes later it is a bear to start crank and crank it finally starts.
Can't figure it out.

I did replace distributor with the one from centerline.

This problem did not exist prior to this.

Car runs noticeably better with the new distributor, starts stronger when engine is cold.

Any thoughts

Thank You

Check to see if the wire is attached to the Cold Start Solenoid. If not connect it, then try a hot start. If it IS attached try disconnecting it (tape it so it won't ground) and try a hot start.

A common indicator of a failing coil is difficult hot starts.

Poorly tuned Spica is also a common problem for hot starts. If you disconnect the cold start solenoid when hot and the cars starts better, a Spica tune up is in order.

A switch installed to disconnect the CS manually when hot was often done in the past, but has been frowned upon recently in favor of keeping your Spica properly tuned. I admit I have installed one as I wait for the installation of my rebuilt pump.

If you didn't know... Wes Ingram in WA sells "the" Spica book. He is also widely considered "the man" when it comes to rebuilding and/or modifying Spica systems.
