Jonty's 1960 Ace Ace has some nice round gauges on it and he recently bot from eBay an aeronautical altimeter with a face that goes with the rest.
Had to see if it was working, so we took a run from Marine Drive up to Cypress Mountain. From sea level to 2800 ft. Some big hairpins on the way up.
Nice sunny morning 72 F at the start and 62 at the top. In taking the scenic route thru Stanley Park coming and going it was 60 miles and a couple of hours.
Up at the top there were about 50 German cars on a tour, but we spent some time talking with a guy with a new Ducati Monstre 1000. It was the two cylinder with over 100 hp and only 390 lbs.
Great day and the altimeter was right on.
Perhaps a fully instrumented Spider should have one.
