That looks like a really nice car. With similar condition Veloces pushing $40k, the price was not too bad.
We get a lot of calls at Centerline from first time Alfa owners looking to get a Giulietta/101 Giulia. After we talk about what their needs are and how they want to use the car, it is often apparent that a "Normale" is absolutely they right way to go for them.

I'm not knocking the car that sold - it's a BEAUTY.
I think we're beginning to see the reality of Alfa demand exceeding the available supply. $25K doesn't buy a new sports car of other manufacture with any interest to an Alfisti. You get what you pay for and while some of us in the past have seen more car sell for less money, the tide, indeed, is changing.

I was asking $28K and would have taken $25K. I placed the car in a lot of magazines and web sites...no sale. Took the car up to the auction at Monterey this past August and it got $32K. I guess the new owner didn't want it anymore and decided to ***** it off on eBay and made out like a bandit. I guess you win some, and lose some. These cars continue to go up. I feel investing in a properly restored car and sitting on it for a year or two is better than having money in the bank these days.

Since this one's gone to the land of the Rising Sun,

and there are BB's who have seen the car, can anyone explain: How is it that this

red/black, flawless restoration, 100% correct, national convention concours winner in 1995

seems to have some less than 100%, concours flaws?
The eBay pictures show:
license plate bracket is chromed, not cad-plated as original
wire loom clamps at firewall appear chromed, not cad-plated
where polished cam covers standard for Veloce instead of black wrinkle finish?
no windshield washer bag
trunk seal rubber-a bit short
battery cable terminals - Autozone replacements
non-original trunk mat
no tool bag
no original factory decals

62 Giulia
Just thought I would post on this one since I bought the car, It took several weeks to ship from Florida to here but I could not be more happy with the car. I drove a 64 spider when I was a kid and have been looking for a nice one. There are only minor things to make this a perfect car. If I were to try to recreate the restoration I could have 35 grand and 150 hours. He also game me a new exhaust system, new spare tire, boxes of spare and new parts, an extra motor and trans, and about 60 pictures of the 6 yr restoration. As they say buy the restoration and get the car for free, something Ive learned from my other Alfas.
