In most of Asia, back in the day, when you run into unexplained delays such as this (with no criminal record), you would know that you forgot to pay someone along the way!
If you'd like to PM me your full name, I can check with the Yahoo group admin. for ya.
But not before you post some pictures!

That's blackmail!!!
Well, you're all quite right. I've asked for your help so the least I can do is post some pics...
Not to keen on the on the interior, but that's easy to change.
Still undecided.

No substitute for seeing the car in person and driving it, to help you make up your mind. Some minor nitpicky observations from your pics: Are the 2 cam cover bolts in the front supposed to be on a 101 engine? Aftermarket brake fluid canister? Missing orig cigarette lighter? Fergat wheels on a veloce?
Not trying to dampen everyone's enthusiasm, but for 46K it better be right.

Jimb,
there are definately more 105 parts than Veloce on the top (cylinder head, valve cover, inlet manifold, and air collector on the carbs)
Is the sump Veloce?
I would be doing my homework before I spent $ 46k.

The first & last pictures show the fixed hood on the rear deck - this was a 1960 feature, way before the 1600 Giulia ever appeared, yet it has the cigar lighter which the '60 does not have - hence the dash & hood don't tie up.
Agree on the 105 head / inlet / plenum
Regarding the the Fergat vs Borrani issue, Alfa simply specified "wheels x 5 off", I have period pictures of Lightweights & Spider Veloce's on Fergats, my one '57 Normale is on the original Borrani's & my 750E Confortevole is on Fergats.
Jimb - Caution - twin Webers do not a Veloce make.....
Keep looking, you will find a good one, I suspect this one is a "bitsa"
Ciao

Interesting that an American import would have a speedo in Km/h...which is faded differently from the tach and combo guages

I guess that I don't need to talk to the 750/101 Yahoo people now, eh?
Good luck in your search.

You don't have to have one to join. I joined the Giulietta yahoo group before I owned one, and gosh, now I own two. See how easy that is? Both were bought through yahoo group connections/postings.

Port Elizabeth eh...
Very good friends of my wife (Kelvin and Elmarie Roberts) I moved from there about '95.
Beautiful place from what I've seen of the pictures.
Thanks again everyone for you input. Absolutely invaluable resource.
Cheers,
Jim

Not to belabor the point, just curious as what you mean by the fixed hood? I assumed someone just didn't know how to fold the hood (top) properly and left the rear of it attached.

The veloce plenum looks proper to me - what do you see that is wrong? The cross section of the rubber hose across the head should be oval, so maybe only it and the air filter cannister are incorrect...

Actually I spoke to the saleman for that car. First off it is a Normale...not Veloce. And, by the time I was ship it over here and the address the deficiences on it I would be into it for the same amount of many as this Veloce I was looking at.
Thanks though,
Jim
