Unknown Hardtop off Ebay Italy

Hi all,
has anyone an idea who made this hardtop that I purchased on Ebay last week in Italy?
Slightly different to the Pininfarina ones and it isn't an Ellibi.
It is made of steel but has no chrome trim on the rain gutter and no makers tag inside, the rear window is plexiglass with no marking.
I will take a few shots of the sunvisors and fittings this evening.
These photo's were taken very quickly after unpacking to show the seller.
Thanks
Nick

Some more (very poor) photo's

Hi all,

no more suggestive redhead jokes please

I took some shots of the fixings, the second one would interest me how the matching part on the body was done (just behind the seat). The thread is a M7 of all things! The fitting can be turned easily to point up or down.

What color would you paint the hardtop? grafite grigio or black?

The headliner is staying black and just needs a good clean.

Thanks for any tips
Nick

Looks like you scored a good buy! I would consider painting it silver.
I'm not sure what to make of the threaded fitting -- you need something similar to the front latches to pull the top down onto the body. What I've seen behind the seats on certain cars is a simple triangular piece with a hole that a hook would fit into, except you're missing the hook. Sorry no pic to show you

Sunvisors

You could pull the top down on those threads too if you had a knurled nut that didn't slip in your fingers (no room for a wing nut and dangerous too).

The hardtop is of great quality, the screws and fixings are well chosen and not shady tree atall. The headlining is very tidy and the dark green sunvisors are very funky!

It was required by law to have sunvisors in Germany in 1963, in the parts catalog they are shown as being used with the softtop especially for Germany and clip on the upper windscreen frame!

Did the Pininfarina hardtops ever have sunvisors too?

Fixings for Jeffrey

This sketch is for Jeffrey who has the same hardtop.

This way the existing studs could be used to pull the top down onto the car with a wrench/spanner.

How about the exact same shade of red as your seats? Black is ho-hum, and body gray is even more so.

Steel PF Tops.

For spiders, there is a windshield top bow listed in the Giulia parts book, as (Germany Only) and this top bow includes sun visors. To my knowledge, no PF tops ever came with visors. My top, a PF, is a very late one, '64 or '65, and differs in some very minor details from earlier PF (Giulia, not Giulietta) tops I have seen. Again, the parts book lists these as available in the standard car colors of the day, plus unpainted. Generally, not always, these were ordered either to match the color of the car, red car, red top, black upholstery, black headliner; or just the opposite. For example, red car, black top, black interior, red headliner. I have the later combination.

I think that black would look good.

Didn't buy it new though like my Giulia! Had to trade a disassembled 101 spider racecar and $3500 cash to get that one in '71! Another "keeper".

Hardtop Colors

Sorry Patrick but I think the body grey hardtop looks good.

Here are a couple of photo's to back my opinion up

This car was for sale in Holland about the time I bought mine. Has a black interior, I wanted red!

Here is a grey/red Giulietta for sale in Italy that would have been perfect, but it sold before I got to it.

Silver Top

rshalfa suggested painting the hardtop silver. Here is a black car with a silver hardtop. Looks good in my eyes, but with the grey and red it might be to much and only really ties in with the rims on my car.
