Old cars price guide April 2008

OK, so I picked up a copy of the latest price guide and here is what they say about the value of the Alfa Spider 2600 convertible, (98.4").
For a car in #1 condition, that is the finest concours show quality:
1962 - $30,000
1963 - $25,000
1964 - $22,000
1965 - $33,000
Now from what I've been reading lately these prices are very low. But it sure is odd that they vary so much from year to year.
