Seems these jack tops and buttons are always misplaced.

Item number:

Quite a nice reproduction!
While your eBay states "fits 750/101" jacks; IIRC - the 750 jacks had a metal cap.
Perhaps others will post here, either refuting or confirming this.

George,
Did ALL 750's have jacks with metal tops? Anyone out there that can verify this? I have two Battaini jacks; one with a cast iron pancake base, and one with a toothed or serrated base for digging into the pavement. The one with the cast iron base has the smaller diameter top.

I have no idea which came with which vintage Alfa, but would welcome information on the subject. Meanwhile, if you need one, they are on Ebay.

ALFA - No Absolutes!

Terry
To the best of my recollection:
750 w/wooden handles and Pancake or Bullseye base - had metal caps. See pic 1&2.
750 w/plastic handle and Pancake or Bullseye base - Plastic cap. See your pic: jack on the LEFT.
101/105 w/plastic handle; any pattern base(Toothed, Bearclaw, etc.) - Plastic cap. See pic 3

This picture was posted elsewhere, but anyway...

OK, so I have a 750 car. The jack is a pancake bottom style with a metal cap. Am I understaning that I should have a wooden handle?

Also, it looks like I am missing a piece up by the crank. I am pretty sure that whatever goes there is different than the reproductions offered. Any pictures of the missing bit?

Awesome! And a blue jack to boot. Is that just standard Alfa Celeste (no such thing, I know)?

I see that you have rawhide straps. I am told those are for very early cars...what year is yours?

Pics are from a 1957 Spider. Natural rawhide is the correct strap for 750 Giuliettas.

Jack handle

George,

Can you give me some close up pictures of the wooden knob on the handle and some good measurements? Diameter at widest and narrowest points, diameter of hole in knob, length... Also, do you have the correct button on the side? I couldn't see from the way your BLUE jack in lying. Pics and measurements?

You can guess where I am going with this.....

Thanks,
Terry

That would be impressive if you could make some. Count me as an order. I think that the tough part would be figuring out how the knob works with the clip that can be seen on the handles and reproducing that mechanism.

Wooden Handles

Well, here's my attempt at duplicating the wooden handles with no real pattern; just some dimensions from George and his pictures to go by. These are turned from hickory and drilled to be just a loose fit on the shaft, but a tight fit over the "C" ring. Lubing the "C" ring and its lands on the shaft allows it to rotate freely, but stay attached.

The one on the left is unfinished, the other two are stained and polyurethaned.
