Any idea on what type of hp this setup will make? I'm currently trying to pick a 59 101 up, and would be interested in a build such as this.

My guess is hp figures would be similar to that of a Euro 1750 GTV? As Mario's using 45 Webers, the numbers may be slightly higher.

You need a later 5-speed tranny. It will bolt right up with a 101-Gulia transmission cross mount. I prefer to stuff the inner workings from the later 5-speed into the earlier 4-speed bell housing, case, and tail housing. You will need a special oil seal to seal the late input shaft in the early bell housing. The speedo drive in the later box will probably be for a 4.56 which is I expect you need.

The Alfa Supercuadro old preparation is a stroker engine to get 80 mm piston
& 80 mm displacement.
With a 1600 head can arrive to 12.1 compresion,in the past some people
used 1300 head ,is explosive but have fragile 13.1 or more.
The vantage is to get aprox.8000 RPM starting 2000 RPM power band.

Regards
Mario

Thats way to high strung for my taste. 10.5 is about the limit that I'd be interested in. 12:1 or greater is just asking for bearing failure at an early age.

In terms of the tranny upgrade, you just want to make sure the speedo drive gears match the rear end ratio you will be using.

I would stick with a mechanical clutch and it will all bolt up. Suppose you could use a later bell housing and convert to a hydraulic clutch, but I've never done that.
