Is it heading off to the left or right?

Right, I took some measurements of the spring that I have and this is what I need:

Wire thickness: 0.80"
ID: 0.388"
OD: 0.561"
Length: 0.647"
Need Left-Hand Wind
270 degrees deflection
Overhanging leg#1: 1.06"
Overhanging leg#2: 1.25"

The rod that it needs to clear is 0.315"

I was looking the online catalog that you pointed me to. I think that TO-1029 is worth a try.

I signed up for an online account, but I don't know if they will take individuals. They also said that I must wait 2-3 business days. That didn't make too much sense...

I'll call them tomorrow. I work for a company that if I call they will send me a few free samples, so if you have a couple that you think might work, let me know.

Does having seats with seat rails and some extra rails make my parts car a viable project? I'll gladly barter some simple rust repair for extra seat rails!

I didn't really see any others on the list that looked as promising.

The only other spring that I need is the return spring for the turn indicator lever. I don't have one to work with, so I would be shooting in the dark.

It would actually be a worthy goal to have a list of springs that a giulietta needs and a catalog number for one that would work. People would have to chip in on this one. Some springs that might have a match on the list:

headlight bucket spring
hood latch return spring.
hood prop spring.
trunk prop spring.
seat rail springs (L & R)
convertible top frame latch springs
window winder handle spring
door latch spring
clutch return spring

Thats what comes to mind right now...

Thanks for the help!

Jon

Jon,
I bought the return spring for the turn signal lever a couple of years ago from either IAP or Centerline. At least that spring should be no problem.

Hi Jon

I have seen in tour photo two other springs which I don't have with my seat rails - please see attached photo.

Can you please tell me what are these for and where do they fit?

Many thanks

AV

They go to the headlight buckets. I just had them in this picture for the purpose of documenting everything for the cad platers. I don't know if they are original springs, or what was just used to make it work. They work for me though.

Many thanks.

lever spring at Centerline

I have been checking into this. There is a spring that Centerline sells, but it is for a later car.

Centerline Products: HS524 Return Spring for Turn Signal Switch 1965-79

Centerline indicates that it is not the same spring as for the switch:

Centerline Products: HS510 Turn Signal Switch Giulietta/101 Giulia

however, he doesn't have a switch in stock to measure the differences.

Is this the one that you used? Anybody know if it will work?

Sure would beat buying a new switch to get the spring!

Christian Ondrak, OK Parts in Germany has the correct turn indicator return spring. I usually buy them from him in threes. One for the project, one for the next project, and one to sell. They don't last forever. Buy more than one for insurance!
Gordon Raymond
Check with him on other springs you may need. He always amazes me.

I am going from memory since I am at work, but I believe that is the driver side spring. I will double check tonight.

Otherwise, yes, that is the little devil that I would be looking for.

Thanks,

Jon

I checked with OK parts, and they don't have the seat springs, but they do have the turn indicator springs.

I tried my best to order some through their website, but I just didn't seem to be doing it right. It would ask me for a quantity, my personal information, and whether I would pay by credit card or on account. It took the info, thanked me for my order, but never asked my for my credit card number. I have emailed Christian to ask what I am doing wrong, but I haven't heard back from him.

What is the trick?

Jon

I take it back. After twisting the image around in my head, I think that is for the passenger side. So, that is the ticket.

Are you posting the picture for reference, or is the item for sale?

Thanks,

Jon

Jon,
The website is in German, and translated. Doesn't work well for me either. I contact Christian by E-Mail. Here's his address :>ondrak@okparts.net< He gets this directly, and will contact you in easily understood english/german mixed together. Remember the time change! He wont get to work until we are long asleep! Use my name, as we are friends. He is one very honest dealer. He prefers Fed Ex which will get you stuff faster than you can get it here in the U.S. but it's costly. I either have him hold orders for me 'till he has a large box of my junk, or ship by mail which takes 2 weeks or so, but is cheaper and does get here eventually. Best Gordon Raymond

Spring

Jon,
The one in the pictures is not for sale, but I found a spare assembly that needs a bit of cleanup. It has the spring you are looking for. If you are interested, contact me via PM or email.
