I posted about this noise when I turn the key, a grinding sickening noise, as I looked down tucked under the Weber carbs, there sit the poor starter, only holding on for dear life by two bolts, yes you read right, two bolts instead of 3!!!
I was disgusted at the auto electrician to whom I had taken the car to previously, he obviously was not one of my best choices in life!
After searching for gold, apparently size 9 bolts are a thing of the past in Cape Town, I asked for something better than what I had at the time, which you cant even call bolts!
They supplied me with 3 new size 8 bolts and I asked for spring washers, I tightened the starter the best I can and the first swing was music to my ears, now I can go anywhere with my Guili, I dont have to stress about an ear shattering noise...
Although it did damage a small part of my flywheel, right on the edge..I just hope this will not bite me in the end!
