FS: 1962 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Veloce Sprint

I have no affiliation with the sale of this car. Just thought it is an amazing example and commanding $57g.

And I thought a 57 Veloce with aluminum bumpers/trim and alleggherita glass for $42K was expensive!

Nice example, this car, but it's no longer a top-notch show car to command such a high premium, IMO. Personally, its history with Griswold doesn't do anything for me either. I think $40K is justified.

Alfas are very under-priced.

A good Austin Healey 3000 goes for $60,000 to $80,000.

Underhood detail

A nice set of pictures, for reference perhaps.

In photo #34, under the hood, on the red painted rectangle at the upper left, should there be some kind of placard?

powerful

I can lurk no longer...though I own 105/115 series cars, I like to peek in on this category from time to time. My dad's first Alfa was a used '60 Sprint, standard. Trimmed much like the car at fantasy junction...even had that goofy split storage bench rear "seat."
Certainly there will be much healthy debate about how correct it is, value, etc. I'm just wowed by a time-capsule car like this one. Said many times, many ways, by others, this car, the concept and execution and what it represents to Alfa and to the industry is huge. It's hard to put it in perspective given today's issues, world economy, technology, and consumer demands.
I wish I could know what my dad, long time american auto parts manager and mopar guy, must have thought the first time he drove and inspected an Alfa in '62-3. (he's long since passed) Certainly he was intrigued enough by all of the technology, character and driving experience to scratch up the bucks to buy one while raising a family on a modest income...but then, having a neighbor named Paul Tenney probably had something to do with it.

Thanks for posting the link.
