source for a 750 normale oil pan gasket?

Anybody know where to get one of those short of buying an entire engine gasket kit?

You might try John Norman at Alfa Parts. I haven't struck out with them yet. 1 800 890 2532 is their phone #.

Jon, someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that the pan gaskets are the same for the 750 1300 all the way up through the 1750's. Or at they will work fine. Unless I'm wrong (it has happened!), that might help your search.

The 750s have a scallop in the side where the oil filter canister sits.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses.

So is the consensus that any oil pan gasket will work for a 1300 to a 1750? I just need to trim it a bit to allow for the oil filter canister...

Didn't say that, I can't recall how big the scallop needs to be and if you are left with insufficient material at this point. Make a template to see what the situation really is.

I'm pretty sure that the sump gaskets are the same. I just set a later gasket on a 101 Veloce sump that has the scallop and it fit just fine althought the scallop will need to be trimmed, as you indicated. IAP sells them for $19.50.

Thanks again

I went on over to the IAP website. I started at my car and moved to newer cars until I found a gasket available (1600 boattail). $19.50 as you said.

I hope it works!

Quick update here. Yes, the duetto gasket works. You do need to trim out a slice to clear the oil filter canister. It's no big deal, though. Trace out the scoop with a pen and cut it out with a stout pair of scissors. Presto.

One trick that took me a minute to figure out. There are two holes that are not symmetrical left side to right side. I was convinced that I needed to relieve the holes to make the gasket fit. Then a bright idea finally hit me: flip the gasket over to see if that helps. Perfect fit.

Boy, am I bright sometimes!

Working on cars....ain't it fun?
