Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce - 750F
Chassis # 1495.05545 born on Dec 15, 1958... First sold on Jan 8, 1959 to Hoffman Motor Car, so registered as a '59.
Engine number 1315.32051 still fitted and running, but in need of a rebuild (currently looking for a good source for 750 Veloce internals)
Body is decent - no rust currently, but the floor pans where cut out and replaced with pop rivited aluminum!! Have to do something about that... Red paint is servicable, but would like to return to original sku blue (AR 301) someday. Interior good (black w/ red piping), and brand new top in place. For a blue car, I'm guessing that the original seats would not have been black with red, but the Archivio did not have that information.

Hi everybody.
I would like to add my Spider that is a '56 model 1495 00817 with original motor installed.
The car was produced the 8th of november 1956 and sold to Hoffman the 23rd of November.
First registration in USA the 1st July 1957.
Colour is red 505.
The car is actually under restoration and I estimate 6 month to be ready.
I have a couple of question, if somebody can help:
It seems (the car is in very bad condition) that the interior seats are beige instead of black as I think it should be. Is that possible?
I heard that some Spider has been originally equipped with beige seats but I'm not sure which series.
I asked to Alfa archivio storico but they don't confirm neither deny this information.
Secon question: is there any chance to know in which state the car was registered during its staying in USA before to come back in Europe?
Many thanks for your help
Great Forum!
Ciao
Marco

Marco,
Welcome to the BB! Thanks for saving another nice old one! I have never seen beige with red as an Alfa standard combination. I once had a 57, blue, that had non original black seats. Wish I had kept it but it was too rusty and had little value at the time!

Marco Fazio has got back to me and he says that their records show there is no "F" in the chassis number they have recorded for my Spider.
There is definately an "F" on the vehicle registration document that I have for the car. This, of course, could be a mistake.
Marco is certain that my vehicle is a Normale.

My Info.
Pat,
Here's the information on my 1957 Spider:
Dear Mister Harrill,
with reference to your request we are informing you as follows.
According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1495.01974 and
the engine number AR 1315.41804 originally correspond to an Alfa Romeo
Giulietta Spider, manufactured on the 15th May 1957 and sold on the 7th June
1957 to Hoffman Motor Car Co. from New York.
The body colour is white (AR 008), with black or red skai interiors.
Yours, Sincerely,
Marco Fazio

Posted both your cars, Ian and John H.
John, Archivio states that your car was either in black or red interior; which color does it sport now? Also, has the car been repainted, refurbished, restored, etc.? Thanks.

Thanks for finding out, Tom; I've made the adjustments on the front page. Post a few photos here, will ya?! This thread is quite barren compared to the Sprinting About thread. Nothing but boring stats!

Hi Pat:
Minor correction, both my cars, 1495 09155 and 1495 F 10643 are 101 series. The white car has a red interior.
Regards Ian.

Pat,
At present, my interior is an interesting shady of primer gray.
The original interior was black, with red piping and red carpets. The car appears to have been re-painted at some point and the re-spray was very close to the original off-white. I am currently taking the body down to bare metal.

Patrick
I'd like to add my car as well:
1960 Giulietta Spider Normale
Chassis # 1495 10337
Original and current color - red
Interior - black with red piping
date of manufacture - July 3, 1960
date of first registration - July 28, 1960
Original owner - Robert Haber Padova, Italy (now lives in Ohio)
My father purchased the car in 1980 for $300 as a parts car. I took the car as a rolling chassis and a bunch of boxes in 1994. I completely restored the car myself (except motor and trans) over the next eleven years. It still needs a top!

Hi everyone,
Please add my 101.18 to the register.
391066 1965 (sold as a 1966 model) Giulia Spider Veloce
Under Restoration (white/black interior)
Don White – U.S.
I am the second owner of this very original car. “Under Restoration” is a very loose term which should be translated as “started restoration – waiting for owner’s retirement project”
