I knew that one was real as I've seen it as well! Very neat and hopefully your pictures will be of help to historians of these cars. Thanks for posting!

Hi Tom,
My Spider's still "coming along", albeit slowly as my mechanic hasn't been able to "squeeze" me in lately.

Steering Wheel Lock

Despite the picture clearly coming from the Giulia Parts Catalogue, the upper windscreen bar is a 750 part number, (1495 32 713), probably because it didn't change in all the years Alfa built the Spider, but the sunvisor option has a 101 part number, (101.03.59.086.00) interesting that 10103, is the designation for a Giuletta Spider Normale, European Spec - I'd hazard a guess that the only *real* difference between these 2 parts is that the later one has 4 tapped holes in the inner surface ripe & ready for bolting the sunvisors up to.
Thus the sunvisor fitment isn't some extra add-on bit to the top of the screen, but in reality it's the same chrome windscreen top bar but with tapped holes for sunvisors.
Interesting that the part number is for a Giulietta Normale as this was supposed to have been a '64 / '65 fitment for the Giulia Spiders destined for the German Market....
I'd agree that it's a part that was sketched but possibly never fitted on the line.
The "Bloster" steering lock is another interesting accessory - here are a few pictures of one fitted as an OE accessory from the Dealer to a '65 Spider V out here - car was very original in silver, now just another resale red Spider... sigh
For the uninitiated, the chrome Y piece underneath, hinges out towards the driver & locks into place with one of the steering wheel blades in between the arms of the Y, thus immobilising the steering wheel - quite ingenious.

now this is really a cool aftermarket item! I have seen alot of Alfa's over the years but never one of these items. To bad we can't get them reproduced as this would make a great part for our restorations. As to the sun visors I asked Sr. Fusi about this particular item years ago and his response was that it was to be put into production and only made it as far as the catalog. I have seen 105 spider sun visors added as well as those kind with the smoked plastic that fold down.

Thanks Karen; looks like you've got more than enough Alfa projects on your hands!
Do you or anyone know what Alfa color code is assigned to Grigio Chiarissimo?

Giulietta Spider
Please add the following to the registry: 1963 Giulietta Spider. White/Black interior. Recent discovery that's been stored for the last 7+ years.
According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 170661 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider, manufactured on the 29th July 1961 and sold on the 6th September 1961 to Alfa Romeo Inc., Newark, U.S.A.
The body colour is white, with red or black interiors.
Car is located in Detroit Michigan
Thanks,
Richard Phillips

Hi Richard, I've added your car and noticed that another car on the list (AR170650) was built on the same day as yours.
