Patrick,
Thank you for your work in the form of an excellent register.
I would like you to add my cars as well. Though somebody on the register already has subsequent numbers, I was pleased by finding two cars (750F) that where less than a dozen apart. I recently found out that somebody on the BB owns the one that has the number below my best car 4187.
I own the following cars , please see below Marco's responses to my cars:
According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1495.04188 and the engine number AR 1315.31313originally correspond to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce, manufactured on the 30th May 1958 and sold on the 20th June 1958 to Hoffman Motor Car Co., New York, U.S.A. The body colour is sky blue (celeste).

According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 1495.04177 and the engine number AR 1315.31329 originally correspond to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce, manufactured on the 6th June 1958 and sold on the 4th July 1958 to Hoffman Motor Car Co., New York, U.S.A. The body colour is celeste.
The first one is currently being refurbished/restored. The car was an original driver from California imported to France by the p.o. who lived in LA, so I bought it and drove her back home ( over a 1000 Km). It is matching numbers and all its parts are original, never has been involved in an accident that requires major repairs, just small dings in nearly every panel .. To ensure it long term survival in the Netherlands, I decided to take it back to the bare metal, and check it condition…it was perfect no rust at all. The car has been repainted in its original color and is now being reassembled.
The second one is also still complete, however in a poorer state, it will be restored one day. The car has been raced at some stage in its life and it has the scars of it…
Both cars are in the Netherlands.
Thank you,
Jelle ter Veer

Jelle, I'll add your cars right away.
Do you have photos of the two cars that you can post here?

Hello Zlatko
As your car was delivered in Germany, does it perhaps have sunvisors fitted - these are in the Parts catalogue, but listed as an option ONLY for the German market.
I've never seen this fitment & greater minds than mine have wondered if it ever got any further than the Parts catalogue ??
Just curious...
Best

It sure is a neat car. Looks great in that color!
To Greig, I have studied the sunvisor / catalog issue for years, (40+), and have NEVER seen the upper windshield header for these visors on ANY car. Now remember these were supposed top be OFFERED fitted to the LATE Giulia's. This is likely a case where an item was offered (like the steering column lock that DOES exist) to meet a specific regulation of the time, and none were ever produced.
Although I have requested the specific information from various sources over the years, there has never been a consensus as to production and installation.
Anyone out there have one WITH pictures? Please share!

I have been trying to get my 1964 Type 101.23 Giulia 1600 Spider entered into your vintage alfa 750/101 spreadsheet and have been unsuccessful thus far. I purchased this in January out of Nashville. Chassis number is AR379862, Type 101.23, built on 6/18/1964. Sold originally on 7/16/1964 to Alfa Romeo Inc of Newark, NJ. Original color was red with black interior.
I have photos. What do you need to put this into the spreadsheet listing?
Your cooperation on this is appreciated.

Warren,
I'm sorry for your troubles, but the only way to add info to these spreadsheets is through me; for obvious reasons I can't open it up to everyone with editing rights. I now have your car's information and will insert them into the spreadsheet post haste.
Thanks.

Sunvisors and things
Hi Gordon
I agree, I've also never seen the sunvisor option, but from the Parts Catalogue I offer this:
Despite the picture clearly coming from the Giulia Parts Catalogue, the upper windscreen bar is a 750 part number, (1495 32 713), probably because it didn't change in all the years Alfa built the Spider, but the sunvisor option has a 101 part number, (101.03.59.086.00) interesting that 10103, is the designation for a Giuletta Spider Normale, European Spec - I'd hazard a guess that the only *real* difference between these 2 parts is that the later one has 4 tapped holes in the inner surface ripe & ready for bolting the sunvisors up to.
Thus the sunvisor fitment isn't some extra add-on bit to the top of the screen, but in reality it's the same chrome windscreen top bar but with tapped holes for sunvisors.
Interesting that the part number is for a Giulietta Normale as this was supposed to have been a '64 / '65 fitment for the Giulia Spiders destined for the German Market....
I'd agree that it's a part that was sketched but possibly never fitted on the line.
The "Bloster" steering lock is another interesting accessory - here are a few pictures of one fitted as an OE accessory from the Dealer to a '65 Spider V out here - car was very original in silver, now just another resale red Spider... sigh
For the uninitiated, the chrome Y piece underneath, hinges out towards the driver & locks into place with one of the steering wheel blades in between the arms of the Y, thus immobilising the steering wheel - quite ingenious.
Ciao
