My new '63 Giulia Spider

Thanks! I drove the car to work this morning down Hwy 1 in West Marin. For those of you who are not familiar with these roads, they have been consistantly rated as some of the best motorcycling roads in the country!

There are some nice roads around here and I find that the guys on the hot bikes have a LOT of respect for a old, but quick, sports car.

Mark,

I just noticed that your car sports the later Giulia-style gauges, while mine, built later than yours, ended up with the Giulietta Veloce version. Don't be surprised if this comes up again; Alfa was merely trying to use up old-style parts before fully switching over to Giulia gauges.

Folks, due to my crazy ambition to keeping three Alfa registers at once, I find it quite taxing to update Thread No. 1 and the Google spreadsheet in parallel. Instead, I will be posting past and future submissions on this thread exclusively to the Google spreadsheet, with a link that will bring the reader back to the original submission post here in this thread, so no information provided by the "submitter" is lost. I will be doing the same with the Sprint Register. The spreadsheet lets me sort/present the information in a variety of ways, which I think is more useful to viewers, and is possibly more accessible to owners who are not current BB members/users.

Please let me know if you have concerns or comments, and most of all, suggestions on how I can make the new spreadsheet register more useful/legible for you all. Thanks.

Below is a link to the Sprint/Spider/GT registers; there is also a link in my Signature.

I'm happy to inform that all cars on these BB registers are now posted on the Vintage AR Registry.

If you know of a car out there that's yet to be on its respective register, please help to bring it home! Thanks.

390277

Pat,

I didn't see this one on your registry:

Larry Benson in Tennessee received this 1964 Giulia Spider Veloce from a friend who had owned it from new. It has just over 25,000 original miles on it and is original, intact, and complete. This is a real time capsule!

According to our documentation files, the chassis number AR 390277 originally corresponds to an Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider Veloce (101.18), manufactured on the 28th August 1964 and sold on the 18th September 1964 to Alfa Romeo Inc., Newark , U.S.A.

The body colour is red, with black interiors.

Terry,
Does he tear it apart like I do for you with mine for your patterns? A year after I quit racing, I think it was his mouse that moved into my bell housing. Patrick, am I the only one that bought my car new and still has it 43 years later? Agghh. What WAS I THINKING?
