The filter is a standard FISPA. Not a spin on.

Update: Engine And Gearbox Installed
I got the engine and gearbox installed last week. Put the engine without the gearbox so as not to damage any paint. After installing the gearbox (total pain  ) I realized I didn't have the back-up switch installed in the bell-housing.    I have beentold everyone knows that!!!  In fact, I didn't even have a switch!  A fellow ABB reader,George ?, came to the rescue and sent me one. I pulled the box again and guess what... didn't work as is... so, I made a new bracket ("Z" shaped), zinc plated it, installed the switch, tested everything and reinstalled the gearbox. Took us 1.75 hours including making and zinc plating the bracket. Now all is well.  I have also now finished installing the center trans tunnel carpeting and gearshift lever.
I have a new electronic distributer on order from John Norman Alfa Parts that comes with a new high output coil, so I will be selling my new (brand new) Bosch Blue coil. I will sell it for what it cost me (contact me off line if interested). I also still have the NOS exhaust system to install and will be changing the radiator hose clamps as I don't like theway the original style fit. I am going with vintage style wire clamps that work quite well.
I have attached some new photos of the finished instalation.

It's looking great, George!
Since you're further along, let me ask you this: the original black (rubber/plastic?) cable sleeves on my choke and something-else cables (both coming from the pull-knobs in the dash) are cracked and partly-missing for my car; did you have to replace yours, and/or would you know where to obtain replacements? I haven't seen this at the major suppliers' websites (haven't checked Re-Originals, however). Thanks.

Patrick, I used bicycle shifter cables. Peal back just enough of the plastic sheath to screw the wire outer cable into the knob housing. Any good bicycle shop should be able to sell you just the outer cable.
Worked for me.

Two trivia questions:
-Where did you find the rubber terminal boots for the leads on the coil?
-Was the red vinyl shifter boot cover made by your local upholstery shop?
No one seems to offer the correct vinyl boot cover with their carpet sets.

The boots came with the new wiring loom I purchased from Lionel Velez <lionel.velez@gmail.com>. Maybe he could sell you just the boots?
The red carpet set you see, except the rear center piece) came with the car. I had the rear piece made (I didn't like the pre-fit of the one that came with the car) from a piece of extra carpet that also came in the deal. I had my upholstery guy, Andy at Larry's Upholstery make new the two center pieces, but I didn't like the fit of the front section (the boot was too large. I had a new section made because I didn't think the one I had would fit well; but it ended up perfect. I also got the same bulk material for under and behind the seats, and he of course upholstered the seats and side panels.I would look around at your local upholstery shops for the correct material.

Thanks for the info. I'll check with Lionel regarding the boots (must be something he's found in recent years), and I'll go ahead with having a local shop make up some shifter boot covers for me in blue (I have the correct vinyl, which happened to be used in Porsches of the early 60's).

Hope I haven't overlooked the answer, but two quick questions: Where'd you find the larger "band and key" clamps you used on the coolant hoses, and, because it sounds like you're doing some zinc plating in your garage, did you buy a plating kit (if so, whose?) or assemble your own?
Enjoyed every last photo! And the red interior looks simply EDIBLE  ...

Thanks for looking. My hope is the photos will help someone else restoring their spider. I know I looked all over for good resource photos when I did this car.
The hose clamps are from Moss Motors MossMotors.com - Restoration Parts And Accessories For British Cars (MGA catalog). Actually, I changed the clamps to wire style (also vintage) because I didn't like the lack of tightness factor. They might have worked but this car will be driven and I don't want any reliability issues.
Most of the zinc plating I had done at a local plating shop in batches, but for some small pieces I did myself with Eastwood's kit. Works very well once you get used to it and prep the metal well.

Well, I got the Alfa started two days ago. She runs real sweet. Started right up and with a little tuning of the Webers she purrs like a kitten. No smoke, leaks, noises or other bad habits. Haven't been able to get her out yet, freezing rain and constant drizzle for the past couple of weeks. But, it is supposed to be dry for the next couple of days. Hope to get out for a short sorting out/break-in drive.
I still have to add the two under-hood I.D. plates (Recommended Lubricants and I.D. plates. Does someone have a close-up photo of the plates. Which plate goes on the right and the left? I need to stamp the one plate and not sure what exactly goes where. I assume one is the motor number (MOTORE) and one is car body number (AUTOTELIO)? What goes in the first box after Giulietta? Is it Veloce?
A couple of shots with the hood on.
