Dennis, I have since found out that my spider doesn't have the u shaped seal with the metal bracket. As far as I can tell 750 and early series 101's didn't have it. I have an early (transition) model 101.

George, if you say so, and no drilled holes either you can´t find? I have a friend with these seals on his ´61 Spider, but that of course would be in the middle or towards the end of the 101 1300 series.

Also AlfaStop lists the seal for the Giulia but not the Giulietta.

Campagnolo style wheels
Well here is my latest addition for my Veloce. I purchased a set of 5x15 Giulietta alloy wheels. They are lightweight alloy replica of original Alfa/Campagnolo wheels. ET35 offset, weight (6.9kg) heat-treated. I still have my original show wheels with the Pirelli Cinturato 155x15 tires.
I have also completed my tool roll. See photos. I just got some wrenches back from the plater. I had to make the hubcap tool and the hex wrench.
Cheers,

More tool photos
I also made the tapered spark plug wrench bar and shortened the hammer handle to the correct length.
I now have a set of four original restored Fergat wheels that I took off my Veloce. Only 800 miles since I had them powder-coated, new decals, valve stems. Very nice condition. Contact me off list if interested. I am only asking what I have into them. You pay shipping.
Cheers,

Alfa door seals etc
The main source for seals is Cicognani S.r.l - Guarnizioni per auto d'epoca - Home they supply most other stockists - website lists a large range of seals for all alfas including Giulietta or 750 sections.
Unfortunately they use their own reference numbers and do not cross - reference to original part numbers

I got the Veloce out for a little drive today to see how the new wheels feel. I swear they feel more secure and positive. Great driving wheels. I highly recommend them.

You are likely right, George. NO flex in the spider of the alloy wheel as compared to the steel. When we used to race on the steel Borrani's, they flexed and sometimes bent through the spider! The Fergat's would crack, often around the lug holes, but sometimes elsewhere. Alloy wheels changed all that for the Giulietta / Giulia race cars.
I love the pictures and that you KEEP posting new ones of your lovely car. It is an inspiration to anyone considering the restoration of these great cars. Thanks!

Amazing restoration!~ question... what would you say is the least difficult way to drop the engine/transmission into a Giulietta? Individually? Connected?
Side note: my car originally had those alloy/steel wheels, but the person i bought it from took them off sold them for 5000$, and put steels on the car instead. !!

I have only installed the engine one way. Without the transmission. If you install them connected you will need to jack up the rear (?) of the car to have the gearbox clear the ground. (Correct me out there if I am wrong.) Installing without the the gearbox is a piece of cake. Don't install the clutch pressure plate beforehand. When installing the gearbox, slip on the clutch plate and pressure plate onto the gearbox shaft then install the gearbox. Then you can tighten all the pressure plate bolts. It sometimes difficult to clear the bell housing in the tunnel.
Good luck,
George

I had it installed with the transmission already mounted. Also worked out fine, took about 15 min to get it in. I didn't jack up the rear end, but the car was mounted on small jacks (don't know the english word) so there was more clearance compared to standing on its wheels.

I have usually assembled and disassembled them in my shop trans included. However, I have a PIT under my hoist. I have also jacked the rear up (high) with no pit, as well as used an open bed trailer. My transmission is currently out, engine in, I used the pit. All these techniques work well. Veloce's (mine) are considerably more difficult than Normale's due to the tubular headers. I install with Webers mounted and generator loose against the engine. When things get tight, I've been known to loosen the engine mounts from the block for jiggle room. Headers are off, shoved through their hole as engine is lowered. Headers then loosely attached to the head studs while lowering. There must be room UNDER the car for the headers to "swing" so they dont jam against the floor. Hope this helps. BTW! Use PLENTY OF PADDING as JORG shows!!
