This one took a well deserved first place in class at today's Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance. Congrats George! If you run out of projects, how about my Trident?

I just got home from the Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance and I am pleased to announce I was fortunate enough to win "First in Class Award" (Sports Cars & Tourers $2,000 to $6,000 through 1962) for my newly restored 1960 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce. There were 13 cars in my class and I believe 10 were judged. I don't have my score yet but it had to be 92 points or above for first place. I drove the car to and from the event. Looks like all my hard work has paid off.

I would like to thank all of you, who over the past year and a half have helped me with answers to some of my questions. Thank you!!!

Below is a partial list of some of the suppliers, supporters, and friends who have helped me in addition to those of you on the alfaromeo 750-101 yahoo group site and the Alfa Bulletin Board who have helped.

In the days ahead I will be posting some photos of my car at the show on the Alfa Bulletin Board (http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/giul...iulia-1954-65/)

Thank you again.

Cheers,

George Kraus

Very well deserved George. A beautiful job. As you know it makes me happy every time I see one of these cars saved. Your patience with this one and attention to detail should make all BB contributors realize the value of a job well done!

I have several, just in case Keith Martin wants to buy them for the next SCM.

Was Ames 6C judged? I failed to pay enough attention, but I did think it was extremely attractive.

Yes it was judged by Bill Eastman. Bill called me tonight and told me I got higher points than Bobs 6C. He said the judges couldn't find any fault with my car. Bill E would have though...

George,
Congrats on the fantastic reward for all your efforts. It's fair to assume that you've solved the brake lining problems?

Brake problem solved!

Hi all. Just a quick update on my brake problems As you may remember i had to exert way too much foot pressure to get my Veloce to stop. The shoes had originally been relined by Ott's Brake services here in Portland, OR. as a possible solution I recently ordered a set of Ferodo front shoe linings from Tony at Alfa Stop and got them just before the Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance but didn't have time to put them on before the show. I just got the new relined Ferodo shoes back today and put them on. What a difference!!! What a great improvement. Stops on a dime with moderate pressure.

So, linings do make a big difference. Now I will order the rears to increase the power.

Cheers,

George
