101 Veloce tach question

The tach in my Sept. 1960 Veloce Spider has a red zone starting at about 6700 rpm. I thought Veloce tachs had no redline; maybe added by longtime owner's mechanic? Or do I have it wrong?

It goes from 2000 to 8000 rpm, so its a Veloce tach. I have a Veloce tach of unknown origin which is similarly marked.

Yes, because of that I was sure it was a Veloce tach, but had not seen the red zone before and wondered if it was original.

Exclamation Redline

I believe it is original. I have seen early Veloce tach's marked and unmarked. By the time the new instruments were in the later veloces, they were all marked.

Ve,oce Redline

My old 58 750F had the redline as shown in the picture. I think that the later Normals did not have a redline--but I have been wrong before--according to my wife!!!

Thanks all. Not that I was going to test Les Hurlock's engine to that speed in any case...
