Throttle Return Spring

I am having a hell of a time getting my throttle return spring to pull the linkage back so that it will idle below 2,000 rpm. In fact, we have two hooked up right now trying to do the trick. My first question is, does anyone have a diagram, or description, showing where the spring is supposed to be connected to the throttle linkage? We want to make sure the previous owner had it connected properly. Secondly, does anyone have any ideas?
