I had to use spacers on the front. Conrad recommended ball joint grinding because it maintains the steering geometry and suspension moments better than a spacer but I didn't want to do that until I changed tire size. The tires are 185/65's and are in my opinion a little big for this application, I want 175 or even 165's if they are out there. I have since put the stock wheels from my 59 Sprint on it because with the alloys and spacers the studs were too short and I only got about half the lug nut threaded on the front, probably enough, but I intend to drive this car hard once its sorted out and don't want to be thinking about the lug nuts as I corner high above the surf along highway 1.
I am going to keep the stock wheels to send off with the car when I get tired of it.

Thanks Matt. I had to get the longer studs my self for my SV.
Sunday come up to the Nob Hill for the Calif M Party and show. I will be in 102 Sv say Hi.
I run 185-65-15 also. Bridgstones run a little less wide tread and overall. I have no probelms with the Bridgstones for the street. The old AVS Yokes would not work in the same size as thay where to wide and rubbed.
Thanks and Take Care

I'm off to the Sierras for the Snowball Rally starting Friday night or I would come see the cars off on Nob hill. I think we met sometime over the last few years at the Alameda show.
I think the tires I have are Yokes. I'm sure someone will want them for a 105 car with 15" rims. I'd love to find a set of 165 Pirellis, aren't they available again?

Some shots of SV6917 on the Snowball rally this weekend. Vroom.
Last picture is a Sheriff holding a flashlight so I can pull out my battery and trade it for the battery in a friends GTV that was dead due to a non-functional alternator. With a fresh battery you can go for about an hour at night without your charging system working if you only have your headlights on about 10% of the time, and just markers the rest of the time. Good to know.

Pirelli Cinturatos are made in small batches now and then. In the US they're sometimes available from Re-Originals. Last time I looked, they were $300 each. I think only 155 is available (...as if it matters at that price).
Other options: vintage Michelin ZX from Coker ($144); 155R15 Radial TA from BFG (made for the VW Bug market in South America, were available from big W in Mexico at $50 each); or Vredestein Sprint Classic either in 155 or 165 - a good "in between" choice.

Gorgeous - she looks very sharp. Which white is it (AR code if known)? It seems to be more of an ivory white than a cold white. My (red) Sprint needs a repaint and I've been thinking of white instead, and your car provides a great reason to change. What color is the interior?
Cheers
Geoff

Thanks for the complement.
I have no idea of what white it is. I doubt its a stock color. The engine compartment is original and is differs somewhat. I found two bottles of
touchup paint in the trunk. Each one different. One is GM artic white. When I
get the Sprint back Ill determine the color.

Car would start but had some engine rattle, fuel smelled bad so it had been sitting. Interior nice (photo attached). The suspension had recently been done including new Konis. Minimal rust. So I decided to pull the trigger despite having only a very short drive. Id been looking for a Sprint for a while and this one just called to me. I had it towed to my mechanic, for a checkout. We decided to look at the motor. Ive included a photo of the block. Lots of stop leak and corrosion. Will do a full rebuild, including pistons and liners.
