Hi Dominic,
Welcome! Can you tell me what your car's build-date is? Not a Veloce?

Another car for the list
"According to our documentation file, the chassis number AR 1493.00555 and the engine number AR 1315.00541 originally correspond to an Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint, manufactured on the 4th July 1955 and soldon the 7th July 1955 to Bonniers Bilbolag from Stockholm, Sweden. The body colour is Alfa red."
As seen elsewhere on the BB.

Thanks, William. Your Sprint is the oldest chassis yet here on the BB. I have you added.
EDIT:
Click HERE to go to William's thread on his Sprint. While re-reading this thread I noted that both Paul Gregory and Tony Stevens provided the chassis number for their cars, so I added them to the front page. This makes Paul's car as the oldest here on the BB.

William et all,
Here is a little goodies about early Sprints like yours, it´s a technical evaluation done by THE most popular auto magazine of the era in Sweden, but unfortunately, to understand it, I´m afraid you will have to undergo an intensive course in swedish language.

Pat,
Just got the info on my Sprint. It is a '59 built on the 28th of October 1959 and sold to Hoffman Motor Car Co., New York on December 1, 1959. The original color was Red, and the chassis number is 1493.20841. Thanks!

Well Dennis's link to the article from 'Teknikens Varld', issue 3, 1956, caused me a good deal of excitement, as 'my car', #555, was supposedly road-tested by that magazine when new.
So the registration number of the car in the test from 3/56 - A40665 - was repeating itself in my mind until I returned home tonight and was able to check the sheaf of old Swedish ownership records that came with the car...
Which told me; the first registration of the car was on 25th April 1956, with the number W40166, to a Mary Simm, of Borlange.
Hmmm.
Can anyone with access to old copies of Teknikens Varld tell me if there was an earlier test of the Giulietta Sprint than the one in issue 3/56?
My car was sold to Bonnier's garage in July '55, but not registered until April '56. Was this usual? Or might the car perhaps have been a 'demonstrator' for press and potential customers?
Best,
William

"Found" rarity
My family has owned this Sprint since early 1967. From all accounts, it has been sitting in this barn since 1972-1975.
Alfa Romeo Giulietta Sprint (Confortevole? Veloce?)
Chassis #: 1493E 06482
Engine #: 1315 30988
The engine was replaced in Atlanta Georgia during the late '60s or early '70s with a later model after the block cracked.

Hello Davis Family; welcome! Would you like to share a few pictures with us?
By the looks of the chassis number, it's a Veloce (denoted by the "E" in the chassis number). Interestingly its chassis number also slots neatly in between two other Confortevoles here on the BB (see first page of this thread) - others could probably chime in on whether it's a Confortevole... seats in the back? This could make FOUR Confortevoles here on the BB.

Hello Davis Family
Your car is a Giulietta Sprint Veloce Confortevole, (Comfortable), its designation is 750E.
I've been doing a lot of research on Confortevoles after buying 06193 earlier this year. They are quite rare, coming directly after the lightweight 750E's and just before the change to the 101 nose.
Does yours have frames around the windows, or is the glass frameless ??
Can you post pictures of your car ?

Sprint rescue
Well folks, just inspected the 1963 Sprint I reacquired after 30 years. As I said before, this is the first Alfa that I ever drove, and used to belong to Dad.
ID# AR353755 from the title, it had 94,938 miles on it in 1980, and now shows 95,112.
Now find it converted to Veloce specs, rumored to have a big bore kit installed?? Pardon the condition in the photos, it's just as I found it. Still have to ship it home.
