The color of the restored sprint is not the same, that is a very bright blue, Tornado blue is darker than this. The paint that can be seen where the radio cover plate (or radio) once was and in the inside of the doors is the original Tonrado blue color.

The color is looking more like the color on the car pictured below although this car is looking a bit to 'greenish' on the picture.

Bluette

A friend's '61 Spider is painted Bluette, not sure how close this is to your car Jens ??

Look at the dash colour past the steering wheel for the best view of the colour.

Well, this my car in bluette

It's the first paint, but I guess that the color depends on the digital image settings and monitor calibration.

Here's a sliver of Bluette in my poor old '67 GT - will return it to that color when I get down to restoring the car. Yes, those are worms; this is the car right before I bought it.

This seems to be correct. AR-319 Blu Tornado was available between 1945 and 1960 and may have used the factory code KF 12909 for the Giuliettas. It has Ditzler/PPG code "ALF319".

tubut, a very good piece of information thank you.
The funny thing is that it seems that nobody has or knows of a Tornado Blue car...
As soon as I get the sample of Tornado Blue made, I'll post it on BB

Blue Sprints

These are all the "odd" blue colour Sprint pictures I have, I'm not sure what any of them actually are & some may indeed be colour creations by the current or previous owners.

Rody - I also recall that there was a "Tornado Blue" Sprint for sale at one time, but that was a while ago, how are the Suds & the Ti going ?

Jens, that is a simply stunning Giulia, Bluette really brings out the chrome & the lines of a car.

Ciao

This is a 1960 Sprint Normale that a friend once owned, Tornado Blue confirmed by Archivio Storico.

Now I know why they chose the name Tornado Blue.... much better than Salty Brine Blue.

Thanks Willieboy, at last... a photo of a Tornado Blue Giulietta, although that is what I would call "a weathered paint job"!...
I hope to post within a few days the colour sample for Tornado Blue - AR319.

Finally... a sample of AR319-Tornado Blue

Thanking everybody for their coments and especially tubut for his invaluable contribution "...AR-319 Blu Tornado was available between 1945 and 1960 and may have used the factory code KF 12909 for the Giuliettas. It has Ditzler/PPG code "ALF319"...".
This info from tubut made it possible for SOTINCO (the portuguese distributer for AutoColour/PPG car paints) to make the sample.
(Note: The "Shell" bit on the pic is just for colour calibration of your screens)
The car will look very good on this colour with its very light blueish-grey upholstery...

Thanks again,
Carlos

Wow! This is great. It sure took a lot of digging by a lot of folks, but the result is well worth the time, as ths correct color is no longer a mystery. Great collaborative effort!

Carlos, make sure to post pictures of your progress.

Agora sim você pode prosseguir com seu projeto. Boa sorte!

Best regards,
