AFAIK, these will be stamped in brass then chromed, similar to the early 750d parts.

As I'm new to Alfa ownership, I have no idea about the quality of other reproduced grills. They may be just as good, better, or worse. At $115, I'd buy these just for the $ savings (the whole nose assembly is a consumable on a race car).

Smile Guilia grille

I will buy one, assuming it is correct for a 65 Guilia spider.

How can I get confirmation?

When I discussed this with Don before he mentioned it in the AROC add, I told him I would take 2, and that he should contact both Centerline and IAP. Those sold currently, actually only those I've seen, are steel, made in Europe or possibly who-knows-where. A quality, repairable component like those early Italian made brass ones I've collected, would be a boon to those of us that drive our cars.

Center grill group buy status

Gordon
As of tonight we have commitments for about 20 pieces. Not bad after a couple days. At this rate maybe we'll have enough to make it happen in 4-6 weeks. I've contacted a local shop that has 3-4 Giuliettas in their care, and suggest others do the same in their locale.

Larry, AFAIK, right now we are collecting names and quantities. If you send Don a letter (regular mail) he'll put you on his list.

I also intend to send Don a list based on all the responses to this thread. Once we've eliminated duplicates and have requests for about 100 pieces, Don will ask people for a firm commitment and probably a deposit so he's not left holding the bag on a multi-thousand dollar 3-d stamping tool/die.

I suggest you contact Don directly (tel listed at the start of the thread).

John

I'll take one, possibly two, if it makes a difference in Don reaching his required run of 100. BTW, I've dealt with Don and he's a great guy. I'm sure this is legitimate.

If these are correct for a '55 Sprint (which I think they should be, if correct for a 750D Spider) then I'd like one please.

You'd think at this price those in the business of selling Alfa parts would be all over this deal.

They probably want to "see" the quality of the part first. Here is my experience with Don's parts thus far. He made a run of Giulia Giulietta door hinge springs, because he felt those available from a west coast upholstery shop were a tad costly. I agreed and bought a bunch from Don as these are broken or will break on a routine basis on these cars. He used an original spring as a template. I don't know who made them up for Don, but they are NICE, they fit, and are inexpensive enough so car owners can stock enough for future replacement. Don discussed this project with me as well, as I also make custom runs of various NLA items. My products must exceed original quality. Don's door hinge springs are also a quality product. I've no reason to believe his brass grille's will not be excellent.
This is just my opinion from my experience. Need door springs? Try Don's. I'll try his grille's.
