Classic Car Magazine

In the new Classic Car Magazine(Dec 2006), there's a really great Giulietta article that states that there were no Right hand drive Spiders in existance (It's a British Magazine!!!). Will you RHD Alfa guys in the UK drop them a line with pics of your cars? I'd love to see a correction on the next issue. The article does redeem itself by making the Giulietta the outright winner over the Corvette, the Porche 356, and the DB2!

I had better get a copy of the magazine and have a read then.

where to find one ? the giulietta register at giulietta.com has a for sale / wanted section - none for sale right now but you could place a wanted ad; many owners are in the club.

No more RHD owners then?

Well it looks as though ppth99 and I are the only two RHD 101 Spider owners using BB then.

Just to open this thread up again, I've just purchased a RHD Giulia, manufactured on 14th November 1963. It's been in Jersey it's whole life, although now resides in Brighton with me. Chassis number is AR 383117.

Cheers

Devs

Hi Devs, welcome!

Does the car run, and do you have photos to post? I'd also like to add it to the Alfa registers sometime, if that's okay with you. Do you know where it was first sold?

Hey Patrick. I've just spent the last 50 mins skimming through your restoration thread. What a fantastic job you've done and an inspiration for the rest of us! When I have a less hetic day at work, I'll read it in more detail. A truly excellent account!

I've just purchased the car from a restoration garage. In 2005 the owner sent the car for restoration (some panels, new sills, floor, boot floor etc), however died shortly afterwards. The garage have stored the car since whilst his partner considered her position and has only recently (last week) decided to part with it rather then continue with the work. I must have been in the right place at the right time as was chatting to a guy I'd just met at a party expressing my interest in Giulias, who turned out to be the garage owner who needs the space in his garage back urgently!

He had it running last year and is only missing the 2 front wing lowers, sills and the rear valance. Everything else (trim, seats, exhaust) is in boxes and is reportedly 100% complete (still to be collected by me) so I've no idea how it goes back together, which is one of the reasons I found your post so interesting. I'm still awaiting all the paperwork so can let you know more shortly.

I've stored the car in another garage at the moment as I'm just finishing up a 1954 Triumph TR2, however will start work on it within the month. Let you know how it goes!

Devs,

You're in Giulietta heaven, being in the U.K., with a number of very good parts suppliers and a wonderful car club for answers to your questions and exquisite club drives! I also have a friend in London who's an expert with all things Giulietta, and owns a good number of them at the moment. Let me know how else I can help throughout your restoration process. I've just added your car to the Alfa Vintage Register - blue link in my signature.

PARTS: Alfa Romeo car parts from AlfaStop: Brakes, Suspensions, Transmissions, Exhausts. (Tony Stevens), and also Classic Alfa Romeo Parts & Spares Worldwide - Bertone, Spider & More (Richard Norris)

ALFA FRIEND/GURU: Stuart Passey (here on AlfaBB as "alfazagato") - you can Private Message him, a very generous man with advice and everything else.

CLUB: The Giulietta Register (newsletter: Giuliettaletta), at The Giulietta Register

Have fun and welcome to the Giulietta fold.

Managed to finally upload these pics!

Apparently the car has been on the tiny Island of Jersey it's whole life and passed through 19 owners. Anyone recognise it?

Great thread! There's always something new in Alfa land. Note the rear view mirror in the first picture, Gordon. Looks like ours.

AlfaPDent, are you missing the stainless steel spears above the rocker panels?

The RH drive spiders fascinate me. I've owned a RH drive Ferrari Race Car here in the US, but never see a RH drive Alfas other than the occasional GTA back from when when they were pretty common at Ausca.
