1. The first 105 coupe (Bertone-Giugiaro design giulia sprint GT, tipo 105.02) was released to the press on September 9th, 1963.

2. 1570cc "giulia" unit did not show up in production car until 1962.

I don't know about the car, but considering the two facts above, Karmann "giuia GT" could not have existed back in 1961...

Do you have some pictures of the car?

In the magasin is stated, Design von Bertone,Feinschlif von Karmann. Erste prototype entstehen im 1961.
Designed by Bertone, finish by Karmann . First prototype made 1961.
and then it is stated , that this is commend knowledge by insiders.
I wrote to the editor back in July. and have given him reminders after that, but without replay.
So I am sorry this is all I have about Karman and Giulia GT, but I find the statement interesting. and they don't make that type of statement without background

In the book 'Karmann Cars' published by Wilhelm Karmann GmbH, Osnabrück (ISBN 3-88926-894-3, but also published in German by Motorbuch Verlag) there is written:

Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT
By order of Alfa Romeo S.p.A in Milan a Bertone design of this two-seater Sports Coupé based on the Giulia Sprint GT is developed in Osnabrück.
Karmann designs the entire body, builds prototypes and supplies molding tools and all the fixtures to Milan.

(The text is accompanied by a recent photo of a 2000 GT Veloce)

All very confusing for me.
Who has more information about this story?
