This is from my '59 Spider Veloce. It is completely original, including DCO3 carbs (that work perfectly), and the paint on the valve cover.

****! thought I could graduate to lurking. It's my car that I restored in 1982 as you see it--#02516. The Marelli crap was in boxes so I went with the sure thing at the time--Bosch Blue Coil; Marelli S73A Distr; Lucas St/VT/Gen..Pos grd. It has an Exide Battery made in the USA without a phony Marelli sticker on it. That is so bugus, if you think I have a short fuse that will do it set me into orbit. It does have an all black wiring harness that made life interesting as I was a stickler and still am for originality. The next owner can put all the Marelli stuff in as it all works and a Lionel Velez harness in the box, I bought for myself.

Remarkably, it still blows the doors off other Veloces (I guess we all feel that way, don't we?)

If anybody told you a Giulietta Veloce came with non-Marelli stuff they were uninformed or their source books are missing pages.

Thanks for the reply. I suspect that you are correct about lucas, but a person who does some restorations and posts on the BB, swore up and down the car that he was doing was stock with Lucas...no personal knowledge.

My sad old '60 Veloce restoration project is missing the Marelli starter (probably will use Bosch) and has a Lucas regulator moused in. So with that I am on the lookout for a replacement Marelli unit.....any suggestions?
Regards Ian

1) thank you for suspecting I am correct 2) the other person needs to swear up and down less 3) did I just quit posting a few days ago because of so much misinformation or am I hallucinating ... again. Do these people just make things up to trash every author from the parts book compiler to Fusi to Braden to Benson to Tabbucchi to Anselmi just so they can say they have better information sources? I think that person who claims a Veloce with Lucas is true should come out of lurking. Maybe we will be enlightened, once again.

Lurkers are always welcome Bob. Restored, non-restored, clean, dirty, modified, stock, new or old, there is something here for everyone. This is all eye candy!
