Replacing the temperature gauge

Hi,

Today I replaced the temperature gauge, of all the instruments the only non working were the temperature gauges (oil and water), I got 2 of the triple gauge of unknown condition of ebay, good thing I tested both wiring in the engine area and both worked, I did all the conections and started the car and let it warm up for some minutes, when the sender marked around 210 ohms, the one in best shape was marking only in the second dot, the one in worst shape in the middle of 140 and 190 , so rather than start moving the bobins I went with the one that had the higest reading (the one tri-gauge that looked worst), pending only will be the oil temp. suspect gas gauges work since they went to full when testing the water temp gauge.here are some pictures as I replaced it.

Looks good Daniel. My Sprint only ever "Marks in the second dot" with either oil or water temp. The oil will creep up a littl on 30 minute 4500 rpm hill climbs though!

Hi Matt,

I went for the first drive just a while ago here around town, tried to make some spirited reving of the engine (music to the ears!), the needle climbed to the 3rd dot (one before 190) thats around 170 I supose, so I gess itīs ok.

Daniel,
The gages can be adjusted if they are off and mine only reaches the second dot also for the water. I think these are pretty cool running motors.
