Sprint Door Spring or Pictures needed

I've been looking for door springs for my 63 Sprint but none of the usual suppliers, or even the unusual ones, has them. If you have one or two you'd like to sell, I'd love to have it. Alternately, can someone send me some pictures?

Thanks,

Jeffrey

Jeff, the SS and Sprint share the same door hinge design per Bertone with the fixed upper hinge and the very ingenious but impossible to fix if it is rusted out and it usually is lower ball and socket arrangement for the lower hinge. I don't think there is a spring or door opening limiter. I'm working on a "57 Sprint and there's nothing like the over-center spring on the Spider, that no one bothers to replace since it breaks in a a very few number of cycles.

Well, I didn't notice the spring/limiting device on my '62 Sprint until the one on the drivers door snapped.
It is made of some sort of spring steel since it does move a bit.
In the lower photo, the red replacement spring is apparent.
The hooked end goes into the door and the other end is screwed to the body.

Hope this helps.
Walt

Mea culpa boys! I've owned two Bertones, an SS and the Sprint and suddenly I'm an expert! Upon further review, the parts book calls them 1493.42.029 Check Straps. Walt, Thank you for the great photos.
