I'm interested in the rear panel insulation dimensions, and material, as well as what goes under the mats.
Thank you to all contributors, this thread is a great record for those putting Giulietta's back together.

Hi there Brad, it's obvious I can't help you out, but good luck putting yours together.

ASK GEORGE Kraus what he put under that rear rubber mat. I really does not matter too much unless it needs be 100% authentic. Bob Hoy has used a special sound deadening mat in his car. Won't absorb moisture, and is a modern solution.

Thanks Gordon, I agree with your insight. I should have been more to the point though. I've placed an order with the well known restoration supplier in Houston. They said they don't have a patern currently for the rear bulkhead covering, and would I mind sending my old one. My wonderful little car arrived from Florida 18 months ago completely stripped down and I don't have a pattern for Matt to work from.
All the best, Brad

Ah! Another easy one! Get some brown paper bag material at a Kinko's or other package supply outfit and make up a pattern. The whole area to the trunk bulkhead is covered, including underneath the spare. IF you have the rubber mat, the insulation pattern is the same. I believe Matt sells the rubber for the area. If he has any in stock, the insulation pattern follows. Only the top surface is covered with the silver under-hood type fabric. No stitching, just lots of "Alfa glue" holds the fabric to the insulation. More "Alfa glue" holds the insulation to the rear spare area. Should be pretty simple Brad.

Again a little question concerning the vinyl.

Is there any padding under the vinyl? Or is the vinyl glued directly onto the metal?

As is can see in George's pics it looks like the vinyl under the seats have sounddeadening under it, but how about the part on which the sparetireclamp is mounted?

all in all it's harder than I thought

In production, the vinyl was glued with PLENTY of Alfa Glue to the painted metal floor, and spare hold down bracket.

Thanks Gordon, you are again of great help! I like the way you keep referring to the use of ALFA GLUE

Have you seen my thread about getting the car started? Any ideas?
