Dash knobs

I am browsing through my photos hoping that I can catch a glimpse of a key...I did find one that showed the dash knobs. I see the choke cable block-off, but there is something just above it that I can't make out. Also, just to the right of the stereo is another knob that looks like it is broken off. What do you all think these are? Does anyone have a picture of these from their car?

The switch (without knob) to the upper left of the ashtray is the headlight switch. The heater-fan switch is located to the upper right of the ashtray.

With the benefit of a cup of coffee, I now see what you referred to on the right of the radio. I have no idea what it is and it is not in my Sprint. Nor does it appear in the Owner's manual.
