Giulia 101 Spider Windshield

Can anyone tell me if there is a gasket/seal between the windshield post and the body, my parts book does not show one.

Yes there is and a very odd shape it is too. It seems to provide a passage for any water that collects under the rubber to be directed down through the drain hole in fromt of the windscreen posts fixing hole.

Hi there Dennis. I just finished installing my windshield, it took my an entire day to get it right but at least it's in now. I just put the entire thing on a table and had everything installed and than put it as a whole on the car. I had the rubber at the top mounted first, followed by the chrome topcover, I taped these to the windshield. I then had the side rubbers and posts mounted and taped to the windshield. Followed by the rubber at the bottom, again all taped tightly to the windshield. Now came the hard part and that was to put it on the car and to install the chrome piece that goes over the bottom rubber. I remember that we put in one post and than slide in the chrome piece and in this way we were able to get the second post in. Remember this is the way I did it and I am not a pro. Best of luck! A critical step is the torque applied to the nuts on the corner posts. My only attempt at this got it wrong. I very gently applied alternate and progressive torque to corneres, and mid span fasteners until all were firm but not tight. The next morning, my friend, the owner of the 101 Spider went out to the garage, to find a top to bottom crack, two places on the glass.
If any of you know how to correctly run down the fastners, I would love to know.
Regards,Brad
