I take it back. That's a great looking car! Maybe it's just the pictures, but it doesn't look like it needs a lot of restoration. In that case, maybe a little mechanical work to get it running smoothly again would be worth doing. However, you might want to have a known Alfa mechanic do it---service records are a plus when selling.

I am in the midst of a restoration of a 1959 veloce spider. To do it right is a lot of work and very expensive. Unless the passion for alfas overcomes you, I would recommend selling the car as is. Just recognize that you have a valuable piece there. Look at e-bay for comparables - actual sales, not the fantasy postings. Join Yahoo! Groups:alfaromeo750-101 and kick it around. There are some very fine folks there from 80 to 18 and from Anahiem to Asia who will offer advice. There may even be someone to offer cash.

Question Help?

I recently purchased a 58 veloce spider race car that has never been street legal and is 100% original... the engine is correct for the year but is not matching numbers... i'm sure that is a farely hard task especially for a race car. It has the number the faded numbers 88 and of course... its red. From what i know it raced on the east coast and ended up in a major collection by a n industrialist in atlanta. After the owner died the collection was sold off... from what i know the owner of the collection had quite the alfa collection. I had the engine and transmission completly restored and the brakes are next. I plan on leaving the car the way it is for the time being and making it a great car to drive but since i'm a student i cant afford the full restoration. I was wondering if anyone out there may have any info on this car from it's past owners or racing background. I'll be sure to post pictures asap to help the search. Thanks fellas hope you can help me out... all i'm looking for are past owners and any possible vintage photos of the car.

Keep the car! You will regret that you ever parted with it.

This must be Dead-thead Revival Day.
Hint: Look at the date stamps before posting.
