Gta 775325
Ken,
That looks like the turn coming out of the "boot" at Watkins Glen.

Ken,
the first two pics in your post are a GTA junior but the other two are definitely a steel car - 1300GT junior.

Alle, you are undoubtly correct. I checked the source at VIR History - Virginia International Raceway History
and found that those 2 pics were from April 1968. #4 listed as Ammen GTj. The first 2 from 1969.
I have removed them. Thanks for the catch. Added one pic.
Regards
Ken

It would be great if a New Zealand AROC member could make Singh aware of this thread, might get some current photos. Unfortunately I'm not a NZ AROC member any more.
I watched him do some laps at an Alfa club meet at Manfield and also watched him have a quick spin coming on to the front straight ... luckily no damage but a few spectator's (including mine) hearts skipped a beat.

Last year Fred and me tried to sort out the various Ammen-Rutherford cars:
#1 GTJ1300 *1211225*
1968 David Ammen (CS)
1970-73 Gary Rutherford (BS)
1973-76 Joe Scheibenpflug?
1976 George Turini
Antilla
Bruce Fernie
2006-09 Fred Schueddekopp
#2 GTAJ
1969 Gaston Andrey?
1969-1973 Dave Ammen ... very possibly the car from post #2 (1969), #3 and #4 (1974?)
1974? rolled by Gary Rutherford, according to Rutherford it was directly flown out from Italy when new, after the accident it was parted out and he personally trucked the remains to the dump
#3 GTA *613633*
1966 X., Atlanta
1967? Dave Ammen
1975? sold to Roger Clouser, Rochester
Resold to Dave Schosser
1980-1986 John Bicht, Philadelphia
1992 John Murphy
2009 X., Bargo (AUS)
GTAJ *775325*
1969-1971 Gaston Andrey ... so very sure not the car from post #2
1972-1976 Dave Ammen
1976-1993 Bruce Perry, Bradford (Perry #2)
1993 Les Singh (NZ)
Ammen is mostly with no. 4, Rutherford with no. 5. All Ammen/Rutherford cars have their usual triangle stickers on it (including the Spider from post #3)
Photo from 1971, TransAm Mid Ohio, Andrey's *775325* (no. 26) with Everett's *752507* (no. 25)
Any help would be appreciated

Hi Martin, Re: GTAj 775325
How was Andrey using this GTAj in 1969 and 1970 as he was Trans Am racing in GTA 752507 #25 in those years. Do you have some SCCA Races listed or something.
If in fact this turns out to be indeed the #26 1971 Trans Am GTA then another mystery (for me Anyways) is solved. When the Perry GTAj, 775325, was being sold to NZ, Roman and I lamented losing a GTAj with some US race history and that no US buyers were interested. The lament will be greater if it proves to be that #26 Trans Am Alfa.
I guess you know that Andrey was an Alfa dealer or shop at that time and may have bought some of these cars from Alfa Inc for his customers but not raced them himself.
Has anyone spoken to Gaston Andrey or Bruce Perry about this #26 GTA?
Martin, E-mail me if you prefer. I have a call in to Bruce Perry.
Ciao
Ken

GTAj 775325
I just went through my file on this GTAj 775325, and the info I have from Bruce Perry is completely consistent with Martins dates for the Ammen Perry ownership.
Other Details from Bruce:
He did not know first owner. Ammen 72-76; Perry 1976 until sold to NZ
Sliding Block, special springs and Anti-sway bars, special limited slip 5.38:1 diff, Std GTA trans
Campaigned in Northeast SCCA Nationals, first by Ammen 1972 to 1976 then by Perry 1977-1982. Qualified for the SCCA Atlanta Runoffs 8 times between 1972 and 1981.

The #26 1971 RWB Andrey GTA
You will notice from picture in post 9 above, that the Crew for both GTA's was Paul Glynn and Oskar Feldman.
I gave Paul a call today about the #26 GTA and he told me that this Car was the 1970 #4 Trans Am GTA of Harry T. So I think not 775325. Paul went on to say that he had distinct memory of driving to Kweck's shop and picking the car up, losing a wheel on the trailer on the way back near London, Ontario then continuing on to Mass. to prep the car for the 71 season.
He also told me that after the 1971 season this LHD GTA was sold to BOBCOR along with GTA 752507 and both were painted yellow. There apparently were 2 LHD Bobcor GTAs #26(wrecked and parted, ed Rogers) and #52 (AR*775253, Ken Schley).
I also spoke with Bruce Perry today and he did not think that 775325 had had any Trans Am History and felt sure Dave Ammen would have mentioned it if it had. His feeling was that it was the last GTAj that Ammen had bought and it was always a 1300 and may have even been bought new. (new from the Andrey Dealership????)
FWIW
Ken

Ammen/ Rutherford 613633
This picture is interesting because it also shows the ex Ammen/Rutherford GTA #613633 as owned by Roger Clouser in the pic, the blue #3 car. Gary Rutherford told me that part of the sale deal with Roger included having the car painted dark blue (originally red) before they handed it over. He also mentioned that he and Ammen helped him trackside initially to get him going.
I'll see if I can dig out some more pics of it in Clouser's ownership.

So sad to see a US signifigant car no longer here on American soil. I wonder if the current owner knows what he has and if he would consider restoring it to 70 or 71 Trans Am livery.
