Hernan Ampudia - 1974 Ecuador National Champion on GTA 1600

Anybody have contact information for Hernan Ampudia, the 1974 winner of the National Championship in Ecuador on a GTA 1600?

Hernan Ampudia was apparently involved in setting up an Alfa Club in Ecuador as well.

Interested in any information or pictures of the car, including its current whereabouts and serial #.

My Spanish leaves to be desired:

"Congratulations Hernan. Could you please post a photo of your Alfa Romeo on the forum.

Greetings from Caracas."

At least someone from nearby has looked into this thread. Certainly Venezuela has had its share of GTA's.

Can't seem to get a picture of an Ecuadorian one yet, so here's a picture of one from Venezuela: Sergio Trevalle or Trevale with a 1600GTA.

Allegerita,tanks for the translation.
Really, car #99 was drove by Sergio Trevale passed away some years ago,
Mini Cooper driver was Carlos Tai.
Picture was taked during Gran Premio de Caracas Los Proceres ,maybe 1969 or
1970.
Only 3 GTA arrived here,1 to Sergio Trevale(Sold in Bogota Colombia 10 years ago),1 to Giovanni Spadaro(bought to me in 1979 and leave to Italy in the 90)
and the last bought from Perez Dupuy (sent to Italy in a end of 90).
No more GTAS in Venezuela.

Gracias Mario,

Was the Giovanni Spadaro car chassis # 613050 by any chance?

What about # 613880 mentioned in this thread?
http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/pict...-friendly.html

Do you know by any chance what the chassis numbers of the Venezuela cars were and which drivers they went with?

I am also curious whether Hernan Ampudia's car may have been imported through Venezuela or directly to Ecuador?

Spadaro Car GT or GTA

See link:

1968 Alfa Romeo GT Race Car - RussoandSteele.com

Did Spadaro have this car only or was there another car as well?

Here are more pictures of the car: http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/pict...-race-car.html

The car turned out to not be a real GTA Jr. It started life off as a GTV/GT Jr. and was converted to "GTA Spec" by Spadaro. He bought all the aluminum/fiberglass pannels, and Autodelta/Angellini parts in Italy and put the car together in Venezuela. We installed a regular 1600 in it when it came to the US. It now belongs to one of our overseas customers. Since then we've helped him reunite the original Angellini motor/ Colotti gearbox with the car. If I remember correctly, he had a real GTA before this car. I have pictures of it in the Venezuela warehouse where it sat for 20+ years! I'll try and scan and post them over the weekend.

Thanks for the pics & link. Would love to see the pictures of the other one in the Venezuela warehouse.

Do you have any chassis # information on any of the Venezuela GTA's by any chance?

Italcarguy.
Are you right,Spadaro transformed a Gt in GTAM to race.
Pictures are taked in Turagua.
In a same time Giovani bought a Angelini engine but without sucess because local engine preparation was better.
Car was prepared by Sergio Cavichioli who is Abele Cavichioli son, noted Alfa Romeo garage service here in Caracas.
The car was sold to Camilo Stoyer in Bogota Colombia some years ago & the Angelini
engine was sent to Los Angeles.
Spadaro original GTA was mine 30 years ago,im sold some time leather.
Regards
Mario

This car didn't by any chance have a fiberglass dash, full interior with Autodelta fiberglass bucket seats, especially upholstered rear seat (higher - I suspect for Venezuelan GT regulations), a generator cut-off switch below the dash - white pull-out, a white Venezuelan made fire extinguisher mounted on the roll bar, 90 liter tank, sliding block, knuckle risers, low-mount rear stabilizer bar, Burman steering box, cold air box, small rear FIA fender flares, Spirax moly gearbox sticker on the inside of the hood etc. etc. - essentially an Autodelta works car updated to the latest spec about late 1967/1968. The rear clip was replaced at one point in time. Does that sound like your car by any chance?
