GTA style intake

Hi guys, I have a '71 GTV with 45DCOEs fitted with a GTAM air box. Does anyone have any info on how to build the air intake "tube" that goes to this box? mold, schematics, dimensions, any for sale? Thanks guys, Ted.

strange.... i always thought gtam's had molded in intake horns with spica or lucas injectors running through them before the slide throttles. you have adapted it to a dcoe?

most likely it isnt a gtam airbox?

`There ISN'T one. The airbox, that's it. There never was a tube or anything to that.
You could make one of course. though, on a '71 GTV that would mean taking out the right inner headlamp. They did it like that back then. Need pics?

Hello members,

Right! Pictures! This is what I found in my little archive. Source is alfabb.
This is obviously not a carb equipped car but injection equipped.
I do not recall the member who posted this picture. Sorry!

Ciao, Olaf

Zagato_Olaf,

I believe there were quite a few configurations using the following combinations of a) engines and b) cars:

a) GTA, GTAm and 16 valve
b) GTA ('stepnose car') and GT Junior/GT Veloce

The most common combination is the GTA engine and 'stepnose chassis'. The more rare one is that shown in your photograph. There is another one that is not often seen i.e. that for the 'GTAm engine and the GT Junior/GT Veloce chassis'. There were also some 'specials' that were used.

If I have understood 308gtsriver correctly, he is looking for the more common snout. I will dig around 'my photograph collection' to see if I can post some.

Hello South Africa,

Thanks for the feedback! I have got another one. This seems to be a stepnose (GTA or GTA 1300 Junior). I am sorry for not knowing the source/owner of these pictures. It is not me!

Ciao, Olaf

The pictures look like they are from 613006. Aluminum box and intake. Access cover in the right inner fender. The box has likely been enlarged from original spec.

Hello Alleggerita,

Thank you for your reply. I found two more pictures in my little archive which were posted on the alfabb before, if my memory serves me well.
I did not note the name of the owner. I did keep the original title with the pictures. So excuses to the owner for not mentioning his name.

Ciao, Olaf

I think that's the pics of Canam Bob's original and a repro he had made.
