Probably depends where and in what class you run: Avon has several 13" race radials, Hoosier has some 13" radials, Toyo R888's, and Michelin TB5 and TB 15's, and finally Dunlop Racing bias-ply. There may be a few more. Cost and local availability are probably the main issues.

It's not going to be real easy to find a great performace tire in 13" unless you go to a full racing tire...

If you're after Dot-approved tyres i don't think there are better choices than Avon ACB10 (I use them on my race GTAm replica with great success - 245/45/13"), try medium, not soft.

There ar ofcourse Hoosier "Dot" approved tyres...we are not allowed using them in our series, but I guess thery're awesome....rediculous as dot-tyres, but anyways...

The Toyo R888 are out of production in 225/45/13"

In semi-slicks there are unfortunately not much choice anymore. Good luck, and go for the Avons, you will not regret

Try to source Yokohama R352 in the sizes 215/50-13 (front) and 235/50-13 (rear) en mount the open white letters on the inside. That's a good alternative, although short in supply. Does work well as road tires!

Hi Markus
Do you use spacers on those Compomotives to get them this far out? I use som cheap 8x13" wheels from Bassett Racing with 245/45/13" tyres. Those wheels have 2" backspace (err...at least I think that was the case) and almost touches the arches (it would have if I did'nt hav 2,5 degrees neg. camber). I am looking for something new with slightly more margin. BTW: have you tried wider tyres than 205's?

Regards
Stian

Hi Stian,
Yes I use spacers on the wheels. 25mm per side!
In the front the brakedisc is direct in the wind, you will have no problems
with hot brakes.
I only can use the yokohame 205-60-13 because we need to have 10cm space to the street (Hist.app. K)

regards
Markus

Hi Markus,
Have you any steering box issue with the 25 mm spacers.
I had a burmann box failure but my car is with 9 x 13 wheels and I have limited now the front spacer to 10 mm.
At the rear axle, do you have longer studs to fit a 25 mm spacer or what type of spacer did you fit.
My car was when I bought it, fitted with AVON ACB10 but 245.45 x 13 front and rear and was not manageable on normal road. I fit on the front Yoko R352 in 215/50 x 13 and ZF steering box. Driving control is fairly better but I think to drop to 205/60 x13 if it fits on my big wheels. I think that if I had the choice, size 8 x 13 must be the better for the front to solve all the issues.
I want to be able to use my car on road and sometimes for fun on tracks
