GTA Grille

Please look at picture...

I've received some clarification recently pointing out that a grille center piece I have up for auction is actually for a Super, but that it is common place for folks to modify these grilles for GTA replicas. I decided to check it out. I removed my stepnose GT Junior grille and placed the Super grille in its place as best I could but the stock cutouts on the bottom are easily seen from the front. For the folks that make GTA replicas, are these lower grille cutouts done away with, and then the dual air intake cutouts put in place?

I'm sure someone knows. Thanks.

I believe the Super grille that looks like the GTA grille has a different side profile. If viewed from the side, the Super grille has more depth.

I'd guess folks simply weld up those holes, then cut out the GTA air ovals in the front as they wish.

My car came with all of that already done

Steve,

I think you are absolutely right. I've received a number of off-line e-mails and they said the same thing. Folks just cut the extra material off the grille then do the metal work on the front of the car.

Seems that I heard that the GTA grille was originally from a Giardinetta or a delivery truck ?

Is there no one that makes a reproduction of the GTA grille ?

Perhaps even in fiberglass ?

Yo, guys. Stop looking for nothing. Check out the grille on the '60s little box van.
