I shot this video during our Alfaholics customer trip to the Nordschleife July 07, we ended up with a large number of cars there, was fabulous to see them all collected at the infamous circuit and we even did a parade lap with all the cars in convoy - what a sight! We are definitely doing another big customer trip this summer! The complete write up of the trip with full photos is linked below. The lap was great but slowed by 3 accidents (other cars! - which we had to edit out) and bad traffic, still with a bridge to gantry time of 8:30 approx it wasn't too shabby. New upgrades like Michelin Pilot Exalto rather than the horrible Toyo Proxes T1R I was using, my geometry kit and new 6-pot brake kit to fit our 15" GTA rims will see that time come down further...
Next time I will mount an auxiliary microphone nearer the bulkhead rather than the standard camera mic which was too close to the window to reduce wind noise... the camera angle was good but if it was on the rollcage at the back and you could see the steering wheel and pedals then it should be really as good as we can do.... bring on the summer!
I'll let you know in July, but if I get into the low 8,20's I will be very happy. To be honest you always have to keep a little in hand at a public day, you never know what some plonker has done on the other side of the blind crests or corners, or indeed what they might have dropped on the track..... i think a lap in the low 8,20's is plenty fast enough for a public day!
Max,
Really?!?!? The 8 20's?!?!? Isn't being under 8 minutes the Holy Grail for the ring... only done by the Porsche GT2 and the new nissan GTR?
