Centrelock GTAm type wheels

Hi Barry,

Those look similar to the wheels used on the competition ALFETTA raced in South Africa in the 1970's. Some people machined/ground the raised parts off the oval holes - in my opinion making them less attractive. If these rims spent most of their life in the Johannesburg area you will find they are still in good condition.

Do you know what happened to those 'cars'?

Did you receive my e-mail of this week?

Hi Barry,

Did you receive my e-mail?

'That' ALFETTA was stripped for rebuilding. Is the guy now selling the parts? There were about 11 rims with the car when it was for sale. I came across the 12th one a few years ago in South Africa. Would be a beautiful car if you could put one back together. I was tempted to buy the car and 16 valve engine from Laurie Steyn/Tony Collaro/Dawie de Villiers/Franc Puncec/Others when these were for sale in about 1995 but my 'GTAm project' and family could not take the extra financial strain. I still have one of the 8 valve engines and 8 rims that were 'run' on those cars. The GTAm 'stuff' I was buying was proving to be very expensive and needed 'lots' of work as it was very old and well used - even more so now - I wonder sometimes if I can ever complete the project.

Have you any photographs of the hubs etc? Have you any photographs of the cars? If yes could you please post photographs as I am sure some BB memebrs would appreciate them?

Carlo,The origanal car ended up at Tony Collaro`s place..There it degenerated into a pile of rust. Some parts were then sold off and stuff ended up all over the world.
I found the wheels and origainal brakes as well as the AP Twin plate clutch in superb condition.

I will get the photos of the hubs and nuts and post.
Im presently hunting down that 16v engine here..Its got to finally come home.
