It's a crying shame the steering wheels' on the wrong side! This car would be perfect otherwise. You're downunder, send some more pictures of this beauty, I'd love to see the detailing under the hood, or as you say, bonnet.

David, I get the car back from my mechanic with a 'new' engine in a few days. Then i'll take some nice shots and post them up.

Now that is one sexy Duetto, nice colour. How long did it take to restore? Good idea with the grease nipple, do you find that the cap comes of when greasing?

I finally got in touch with the owner of this car, he bought it in '98 with 20,000 kilometers on it, after which he drove it for another 180,000 kilometers! He had it "restored" once in Switzerland and then again in southern Italy, by his description both were done badly, he spent some money on the car over the years, but doesn't have any documents confirming it, because of his "divorce". By his account it sounds like a tired and worn out 1750, but alas he wants 17,000 Euros for the car..........?
