I' ve spokens once with a guy who had de 13" wheels on his 1300 GTA repl. about this problem He told me he used the 1300 brakes. With the disk made a little bit smaller diameter. From the calipers he moved the top mounting point a little to the inside. The caliper was a little closer to the middle of the disk than. That would be enough to fit them.

A good friend of mine has a very original GTAm , with a little patience I can provide you pictures from every detail you need from this car, although there are pictures of this car in the Alleggerita book, it is the blue-white Pizzinato car in front of the Mercedes scrapyard, the same owner also has the "KENT" car

Reference Camcar77. He bought a GTZ/GTA type close ratio gearbox from me last year and shipped it to Malaysia. Received message back the he got it. Nice guy. I hope he is okay and back on the board soon.

Reference wheels. I don't think there is any reasonable way to build six bolt hubs, but I have dreamed about putting these campagnolos on a GTAm. How cool would that be?

GTA/GTAm stuff

Dear Curtis,

Well my experience with CAMCAR77 was rather frustrating and disappointing.

I have a fair amount of GTA and GTAm 'stuff' in England and South Africa and CAMCAR77 heard about this and contacted me on a number of ocassions via e-mail and telephonically. He asked me for photographs and offers to buy certain items. He was very insistant. He kept on making promises about sending me photographs and specific items but none were forthcoming. He kept on missing deadlines, remaking promises and missing the deadlines again and not keeping his promises.

CAMCAR77 basically wanted to buy anything that I was willing to sell. For this reason I kept detailed notes of our discussions and copies of his e-mails. I sent him, via recorded mail, a limited item in exchange for an item. To cut a long story short he never sent me anything which he promised and there was no ways that I was going to send him a GTAm engine or similar items with such 'credentials'.

I have previously sold items from my collection to ClassicAlfa and Alfaholics in England and Hamilton Auto Services in Canada.

My dealings with CAMCAR77 were the worst of any of the above.

Dear JohnT,

I can take photographs of some of the GTAm stuff I have however when I have tried to post on the Bulletin Board it does not allow my files to be 'attached' and the site 'complains' that the files are too large. I can send you photographs via e-mail if you like or I can post them in this thread if you can tell me how to overcome the above 'issue'.

Dear Guilia Bianca,

Photographs of the car you discuss would be very welcome by myself and maybe others on the Bulletin Board. I am aware of this car and at one point in time certain items had been 'stripped off' of it. Is this still the case or has it been 'reassembled'?

From my point of view the front suspension would be of particular interest.

The Gtam that I had, had an adaptor to the alloy Ate calipers. BTW, calipers are the same as the Porsche S exceept the unique piston seal. Dimension wise, they were the same 3.5" bolt pattern, dont remember the offset but it was the same.

For my own future reference, I made a template of the adaptor.

The disk were iron vented rotor with integral hat and was 10.5" (I think)diameter x .75" thick. The brakes did tend to fade on tight circuits with the DS11 pads, never did add ducting, which would have helped.

I can look for the template and post scan if needed.

Wich car do you mean, the "Kent"or the Pizzinato car ??

As far as I know the "KENT"car was in bits and pieces but is complete, the Pizzinato car was a runner, but all mecanical parts are of the car and conservated

Dear Giulia Bianca,

My information is that the Pizzinato car was 'stripped' however this is quite 'old information'.

Dear Vintage Prep,

Yes in my view the bracket between the caliper and the upright has a fairly complex shape.

What template or photographs do you have? Would you be willing to share these with us?

Dear Giulia Bianca,

I was made to believe , about one year ago, that the Pizinato car was in Holland. I believe it had originally been in Belgium.

Any photographs would be welcome.

South Africa,

Unfortunately I did'nt take many pictures of the GTAm. I have the template in storage, may take a few days to retrieve. When I do, I'll post a scan of it. I believe it has the off-set dimension and other dimensional info written on it.

The calliper brackets looked like the following illustration. I don't remember if they were forged or machined from billet. the seals on the callipers were different from the Porsche. I ended up calling Ate of N.A. and they sent the last 10 seals of that type they had left in the parts bin. Naturally these went with the car when I sold it.
