I'm not sure - never seen one up close but I suspect that sump might have been for the Supercharged GTam engine.
That's a hydraulic pump at the front and it could have been used to drive the twin Superchargers. Nice find!

Does anyone know if any 1600GTA-SA car have survived?? i know only around 10 were produced for gp.5 racing.

Calling Jim 'expert' K......

How about making a replica GTA-SA on a 1600-2000cc motor with eaton m46 or m60 charger - would be amazing if done tastefully.

You can do a lot better than build a replica Andrew!! How about BUYING not one, but two GTA-SA engines, complete, in excellent shape (rebuilt maybe??).
Check out: http://www.angelfire.com/pa/alfaromeo/argta.html

Hi again Andrew,
Since a picture is worth 1000 words, have a look at these, its all been done before!: http://www.alfacybersite.com/ACSSuperchargedGTV.html

Its all a matter of $$$$ and then only a phone call away! Right now, I can only afford the phone call (if I borrow a couple of $, heh!).

gtam

i believe the gta in the middle is the one that was raced by albert poon in the 70's. albert is one of asia's top drivers from hongkong. he started with go carts and then drove alfas on circuit tracks afterwards.
