I don't have any information on the GTAs, but this thread has brought back some nice memories. (Thanks, kengta!) I took a trip out to CA in the summer '84 (the Olympics were being held), and went over to visit Shankle Engineering. That was the first time I got to meet John Shankle. He was most gracious to this Alfista, who was still very wet behind the ears. A few years later, when I was visiting CA again, I made an appointment to meet with him. In this two sessions, and particularly in the second, John taught me more about my Spider than I had ever imagined possible. As I write this post, I can see and hear John sitting at his desk explaining cams to me. He was always so helpful.

Shankle Engineering was eventually acquired by AR Ricambi (which is still in business), but I don't know what John moved on to. If anyone has any information, please share.

Best regards,

I think Scott Gray now has it, but I might be wrong. A friend of mine once bought the car as a roller in the early 70's for $200!
